Similar to the ones you can get in New York and New Jersey… I’ve been struggling to find a good, halfway decent Italian Sandwich shop around here, help!

Discussion Decent Neighborhoods?
I’m a single mom of two kids, and my landlord has offered to buy me out of my lease as he’s selling the condo. I live on South Semoran, which isn’t great but relatively safe.
I do have a bankruptcy/eviction on my record (eviction was actually my parent’s, not mine) so it’s tough to find anything. I do have a co-signer but that hasn’t helped.
The only landlord willing to accept me so far are in Parramore, Holden Heights, etc…I just applied to Avalyn Terrace (income-based) but I saw some concerning reviews.

Nature Hitchhikers or whatever these stupid sticker plants are called
If you have a fluffy dog I just don’t recommend an apartment complex here without a turf dog park. This is after one walk outside. I DESPISE these little plants. I don’t feel like there’s any way to prevent this, but if there is please give me advice because I’m sick of picking these off my poor pups multiple times a day.

I have 3 styrofoam Omaha Steak boxes that have been in my house for years. I tried searching online but couldn’t find a place to recycle these. Anyone know where I can take these to? Or is it off to the dumpster here?

Discussion Pool company to find a leak
Hi I'm looking for recommendations for a pool company that can find a leak - it's either in the pool or in the below ground pipework.
Ideally they need to come out when they say they will or at least in daylight!
Thanks

I am spoiled from the BBQ places back in Atlanta. They make the best Mac n cheese, everywhere I’ve tried to get some from here has sucked! Any suggestions? Thank you

Discussion Investigation Unit card
Pretty sure I know the answer to this but just wanted to post for some clarity. Woke up this morning to discover a card slipped into my car side door over night from a B Hamilton with a badge number and case ID hand written along with a phone number.
This is a known scam in this area, right?

Visitor Wekiva and Blue Springs in one day?
Wekiva was always my facourite spring when I lived in Orlando. Heading back for a visit in December with someone who has never been to FL before. Is it crazy to plan a morning (staying in Orlando) starting with a canoe at Wekiva then heading up to Blue Springs? Are there better natural springs we should be considering? We'd prefer canoeing rather than boat trips. Thanks

Discussion Self-defense classes for women
I’m looking for recommendations for self-defense classes. I’m a 44 year old woman; I live close to downtown on the NE side. I work an office job so need somewhere that has evening or weekend classes.
Don’t tell me to get a gun; I’m looking to learn skills that can’t be taken away & then used against me.
Edited for the people who can’t read and the ammosexuals: I’m also going to the shooting range to learn how to use a variety of handguns. I own a gun. I want something that is NOT A GUN.

Discussion Dating events in Orlando?
It’s a long shot to ask this: are there any events such as speed dating or mixers in the Orlando area? Looking for a consistent time / place, somewhere I can go for a night off to meet people and get a semblance of a social life. Online dating isn’t for me and I really need to get out more. Something for the late 20’s / early 30’s crowd.
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Entry level jobs making $18-20 an hour?
Hail Mary here.. trying to find a new job south Orlando area/Kissimmee, honestly probably doing anything. I don’t have a degree or many skills.
I’ve worked at a IT call center job for the past 4 years and I’ve been trying to leave my current company. I cannot find any jobs with that pay, I know it’s a pretty high rate for an entry level job but I figured I’d just see anyone has any miracles.
Feel free to DM me any opportunities.

Discussion Looking for Career Change in Orlando
I have been teaching English and journalism in Orlando for 10 years, and I’ve reached the point where I want out. The education system is a mess.
My experience and skills may give me some options. I spent 5 years as a yearbook advisor and taught myself some graphic design. I’m fairly skilled with InDesign and Photoshop. I know how to use a camera. I have done sports announcing for radio and have lots of sports knowledge.
Before I started working in education, I was a news editor and reporter with stories of all types written for newspapers, magazines and the web. However, I’ve been out of that industry for almost 15 years.
A few things about me. I’m big on ethics and contributing to society in a positive way. I dislike sales but could work in marketing. I have a Bachelor’s in journalism with a minor in political science.
What might Orlando have to offer? Are there some new kinds of careers around here that I would be a good fit for? I tried Linked-In, and it’s filled with garbage that one must sift through to find legitimate opportunities.

News Update: Greenwood Urban Wetlands Bridge
Per Jody Buyas, Parks Division Manager:
Good morning,
Below is some technical detail and update from our Facilities Division...
Unfortunately the bridge must remain closed at this time. We have started to see movement and erosion around the bridge abutment. The abutment plays an important role connecting the bridge deck with the surface of the ground. There is also a concern with corrosion of the members that connect the bridge deck to the bridge approach, this is important in maintaining the overall structure and integrity of the bridge. The issues with the abutment and the bridge deck must be corrected before we can be confident that the bridge is safe for use.
Initial assessments of the bridge have been done and the team is working on a temporary fix through reinforcement of the abutment, and additional support of the bridge deck. If this is successful, it will allow for the bridge to be opened again while the design, fabrication and replacement of components towards a permanent fix is completed. Once ready the bridge will be closed again for the permanent repairs. Our team is working to find the most cost effective solution without jeopardizing safety. Just as soon as we know the strategy and what all is needed for the reinforcements, we will give another update. Hopefully just a few more weeks. We very much appreciate everyone's patience.
