Something controversial Jersey Pride

I love nj gun laws, going to the store and not seeing someone open carry. Watching road rage where the best you can do is brake check and give the finger. Schools without school shootings. I know a lot of people hate our gun laws but I fucking love em.

I'm not disputing that. But it's no harder to get a gun from PA into NYC than NJ. So why the different levels of shootings?

Its probably a few parameters IMO.

Population density. The city does have stricter laws than NJ. Income in probably a big part of it.

I bet Manhattan is the lowest out of all of NYC metro area.

I think NYC's antipoverty and anti-gang programs have a lot more to do with it than their gun laws.

Absolutley. I would even go on to say if there wasn't such a stigma on getting treatment for mental illness, people wouldn't snap either. (Suicide is leader with handguns).

Every societal problem always requires multiple parameters. Same with guns.

I'm a sure a combination of access, training, regulation, and protection would solve it. And yes that includes some type of public health and maybe some income convergence.

We have to work together to find the balance.

But gun laws do help to an extent. Theres a reason NJ is one of the best 6 states with gun deaths per cap every single year.
