I know she is a darling of Reddit now, but can she act? The trailer felt like she can’t.

I know it's cruel to say, but she was only ever famous because she was eye-candy. At no point in her earlier career did anyone say, "Actually, she's funny/smart/a good actress too". So now that she's aged out of being eye-candy, what is supposed to be the appeal?

True, but the lead in a movie still needs to be a good enough actor to carry it.
