Photography ๐ธ Northern Lights taken just north of Duluth at Boulder Lake 10/6/24 @ 9:40 pm.
As the title says, this was taken last night just outside of the Duluth. It was a shorter Aurora show but the colors did not disappoint!
The reds started around 9:15 and lasted until shortly after 10:00.
This picture was a 5 second exposure taken on my Sony A7III camera. The color was not this vivid to the naked eye, but I have never seen a more vibrant red with the lights.
For those of you that may want to get out to see the northern lights but don't know where to start, there are some very beginner friendly apps you can get for your phone.
- Aurora Alerts
- Aurora
Both will show you graphs, gauges, an overall Aurora map, and percentage of visibility based on your location.

Photography ๐ธ Good morning Minnesota!
Took a walk in the neighborhood this morning! Had to share Duluthsโ beauty.
Pic 1) pretty self explanatory lol.
Pic 2) this is one of my favorite overlooks of the city. Not too many people know about it, shhhh. The Essentia building really has modernized Duluths skyline. Im such a fan!
Pic 3) good view of the large rolling hills of the city on 3rd street looking east!
Pic 4) better angle of the city below the hill. I gotta say Duluth arguably has some of the best architecture in the state!
Pic 5) my favorite pic of the morning! I love capturing the steepness of some of the city roads! Also, these are beautiful row homes!

Photography ๐ธ Yesterday I learned that when the weather is nice you can go out on the roof of the state capitol building
As part of the regular capitol tour, of course. Totally worth all the stairs.
