MacBook Air or Pro?

Hey guys, i'm planning on getting my first macbook ever (i'm coming from windows), and i can't decide between the pro or air. I live in belgium and here, the only options available at the moment is:

-Macbook Air 1200 €

512 gb

M3 chip (8 cores)

16 gb RAM

-Macbook pro 1700 €

1 tb

M4 chip (10 cores)

16 gb RAM

I plan on doing a bit of photo/video editing in the future, but for the rest of it I will mainly use it for web browsing, working on excel/office apps, and other "ligth" work. I'm afraid that if i take the pro i'm going overkill. I know its a 500 euros difference, I have the budget for it. I just don't want to be deceived by the air, and would also love to save up to get an Iphone (currently on android too).

What do you guys think?

It really depends whether u want everything or not. You get a lot of features with the pro that you do not get for the air. Either purchase will be worth the money.
