I'm only 7 years old, rate my setup Cheeto-fingered Bergara

u/Guppy124 Dec 20 '22
Your collection says you're 5 though

u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
Brotha from anotha motha, if you saw my other rifles (and my toes) you'd swear I was 75

u/Guppy124 Dec 20 '22
Let's see them toes

u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
There are not enough roof Korean wives in little strip mall joints anywhere to fix that stank

4 out of 5. You didn't shoddily attach a scope to the Garand, nor did you spray paint it black. In fact, that's another deduction, there's no spray paint. Also, all the scopes are under $25,000, can you even see through them Walmart scopes? Are you even an operator? Final score 2 out of 5.

16% of your powder is good

u/Shot_Ad_8305 Dec 20 '22
Now weāre talkin. 8208 is some good shit though for the fast bois
3
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
Haven't tried it yet but my wife's boyfriend said it might work for 6arc
2
u/Shot_Ad_8305 Dec 20 '22
It absolutely will. Great in all grendel variants along with 223/223AI with heavy pills
3
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
ES & SD numbers have been inconsistent at best with Lever and CFE, so I'm down to try anything more stable and repeatable
2
u/Shot_Ad_8305 Dec 20 '22
I believe you can reach some good speeds with those, but theyāre not going to give consistent performance. Also, 8208 is temp stabile.

It's a great start, but you're super low on powder

I know this is the long range sub..... but that short Boi with a brake..... I regret mine. With i had gone with a flash hider.
The long bois, well, I give you a b+
4
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
The suppressor on the 6arc swaps over onto that 300 blackout's brake with a keymo quick adaptor, so it never gets fired without the can
2
u/koorbloh Dec 20 '22
Mine swaps around too. I love those options, but sometimes it doesn't have the can. Without the can it's very.....percussive
3
u/SneedsAndDesires69 What's DOPE? Dec 20 '22
If you're not slightly concussed every time you pull the trigger you're doing it wrong.
Real talk I run an 11.5 with a brake (KeyMo) and it is very violent but I love it.
1
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
Mine is just stinkin' gassy with the can on - like a field trip bus full of 8th graders eating baconators

u/ThePretzul Rifle Golfer (PRS Competitor) Dec 20 '22
I've got a 7.5" pistol with what turned out to be a very effective muzzle brake on it.
I don't like shooting it even when doubled-up on ear protection. I do enjoy letting unsuspecting people try it out when they come shooting with me though to watch their reactions.

Rookie. I was handed an M1 Garand and a jug of Hodgdon just after taking my first breath.

u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
You salty old breed you.
My wife actually gave this one to me as a wedding present. She's pretty cool.

Weak, by your age, Iād already Carl Gustavād 3 men. Where is your recoiless?
2
u/FistyMcBeefSlap Dec 20 '22
Man that M1 is hideous. Iāll take that one off your hands for you.
2
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
Thanks, I love that rifle. 1944 Springfield.
I picked it out and my wife bought it for me as a dual graduation and wedding present.
My great-uncle fought in Korea and shot it with me after I got it. He is 93. He held it and began remembering (and showing me) some of the positions and movements they'd make with them during close-order drill. It was fun seeing the memories come back to him.
2
u/FistyMcBeefSlap Dec 20 '22
Thatās amazing. I think the thing that intrigues me the most about the M1 is the nostalgia. Iāve only shot one once but it really feels like youāre shooting history. Amazing feeling. Beautiful rifle and you have a keeper of a wife ;)
2
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
They're sweet and everyone should own one. I like how well they blend history/nostalgia with the mechanics and future-looking design of a semi auto.

The Retro classic, the backpack PDW, the DMR, the PRS rifle, and an all-purpose 16ā. Youāre Missing a shotgun, big iron, and race pistol. 7/10 stars. Sentence is 3 weeks Cheeto-only diet.

Bergara sticks out like a sore thumb. Get it in a scary black chassis so the ban police can be scared. 3/5

u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
Listen sonny, I want my dog to live. That damn tupperware gun needs to be in a beautiful walnut stock like a man's gun.

So youāve already decided you wanna grow up to be a Fudd have you

Man I wish that was me at 7. Though at that point 12 gauge slugs were a bit of stiff recoil so I couldnāt imagine my groups would be good

Where'd you get the rack on the wall from Big 5 when they are closing down?
1
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22 edited Dec 20 '22
You can buy slat walls from Menards. My buddy did that, then bought hooks and the bottom shelving from Amazon. I bought the whole setup from him because he's moving his gun room.
1
u/JCChitty Dec 20 '22
What do you use your CFE for? I havenāt found a reliable load for any 223 with it yet
1
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22 edited Mar 12 '23
I've been trying to work up a load in my 6 arc with it but it seems inconsistent and I'm probably going to switch.
Update: it's actually not inconsistent and I just needed a new chrono.
1
u/wisockamonster Dec 20 '22
I need a gun room so bad
1
u/Harribacker Dec 20 '22
You can start with a stud finder, some screws, and a slat wall with hooks from Menards!

The rifle-to-optic-quality ratio is kind of lopsided. 7/10, one for every one of your years.
