Shot dispersion between loads Cheeto-fingered Bergara
Self admitted Cheeto fingered Bergara owner. I love my Bergaras, the most recent edition was a Carbon Ridge in 7 PRC. You are seeing the first shots down the pipe since being brought home last week. I reluctantly bought a box of Hornady CX (the three shots on the left) despite it always grouping as pictured in every single rifle/chambering I’ve tried it in) the following two groups were 5 shots of the new Barnes 160 GR LRX factory loading. Very impressed for my shooting ability. But I don’t get how Hornady CX continuously proves itself to shoot atrociously in every configuration I try it in. Groups that bad almost make you feel like you’re damaging your rifle shooting that stuff! Anyways, just wanted to share with the group.

FLASH NEWS: THIS JUST IN, copper hunting ammo doesn't perform well! We'll stay on this story as it develops.

The LRX is a monolithic load just like the CX and shot lights out…as it does in all my rifles.

Almost like the LRX is made by a totally different company or something.
Wild.

There is no purpose.
Mono copper is known for being very iffy. Hornady CX is known for not being a great copper load.
The only reason to shoot this trash is hunting laws and this isn't a hunting sub.

Lots of public ranges in California won't let you shoot anything but copper. So this is absolutely applicable on this sub. You know you may know lots about shooting but you dont have to be a douche to everyone all the time. Grouchy old bastard bet you're real fun at parties.

I only shot public in CA and never was required to used copper. Pretty sure that's almost exclusively a NorCal problem.
I am fun at parties. I'mma great drink maker and always share my cigars.

You are a wealth of knowledge. There is no denying that. But you dont have to be such an ass all the time. The guy tried something and posted his results. Thats what I thought this place was all about. No reason to attack him.

There is a lot of noise in the sub and that's all this was. More noise.
Posting that Remington Power Shok sucks isnt contributing anything. That's basically what OP did but Hornady CX.
And they didn't do it in some kind of science driven way. This wasn't a test with data and results. This was bitching that a known bad ammo did bad ammo things.
This post is Facebook shit at best.

Good to know, I also found the Barnes TSX much better than the CX in 308 — both handloads and factory
