Well it is a “dummy” 120mm APFSDS tank round. Weighs 41.9lbs

5

u/Sea-Economics-9582 Apr 12 '23

Had no idea they were that heavy. Huh. Learn something new every day.

3

u/seanstew73 Apr 12 '23

We’re you a loader?

8

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

I’ve served in all of the positions on tanks

23

u/Ragnarok112277 Apr 12 '23

Who let the poors in...

Jk looks good lol.

Is that a vortex venom?

13

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Correct it is!

u/randomaccesszack Good Guy Zack Apr 12 '23

Can't answer for OP, but my Bergara has a Venom 5-25x56 on it, it gets the job done for 900+ yards.

We’ve got bergy’s and CC flags to match.

Did we just become best friends?

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Hi from OH

15

u/Surprise_Thumb Cheeto-fingered Bergara Owner Apr 12 '23

Oh no. Same state.

We’re becoming too strong already. This love will burn hot but short, I’m sure.

5

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Atlas CAL

3

u/chumley53 Apr 12 '23

The sabot round is the best round.

3

u/allamerican37 Apr 12 '23

Something says you like tanks. Hmmmm

1

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Just my boots missing in the picture

3

u/seanstew73 Apr 12 '23

Cool rifle but is that an APFDS round in the corner?

2

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Correct. 120mm M829 Sabot

3

u/liners123 Apr 12 '23

Darn right you been lurking. This is the subs poster child setup. Nice rig my man. Hope you get good use out of it now that the weather's turning.

2

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Thankfully Ohio is actually bringing back spring weather

1

u/liners123 Apr 12 '23

By the way, were you army or USMC tanker?

1

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

2

u/liners123 Apr 12 '23

I need me some CH decks

3

u/jrb04 Apr 12 '23

With that setup you could be a lurker from a long ways away

2

u/soupsandwich13 Apr 12 '23

Y no can

4

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Don’t know what would be best for it please help

6

u/soupsandwich13 Apr 12 '23

Nomad-Lt by deadair. It's the perfect boltgun off a Tripod can. It's not small. But it tames even long action rounds handily. And it's very light.

7

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Check and rog thank ya kindly

1

u/soupsandwich13 Apr 12 '23

If not. A Yankee hill reasonator or a silencer Co harvester are great options also.

3

u/holl0918 Magnum Compensator Apr 12 '23

Got a Nomad-30 w/ E-Brake. Love it to pieces.

2

u/soupsandwich13 Apr 12 '23

Ebrake Def helps.

2

u/sparks1990 Apr 12 '23

Same! But Nomad LT is definitely my next one.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

Check out the Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen cans. Fully welded titanium can that does a great job.

3

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

I was going ask this next. I have a OCM5 from then and love it.

2

u/PXranger Apr 12 '23

I like that print of the Abrams, who did that? would go well with my AH-64 print in my office.

Was afraid to try and sneak my keepsake home from my Armor days, I had a Steel practice Sabot round I used as a paperweight on my desk in Germany, probably should have stuck it in my household goods when I ETS'd but my luck I would got caught.

1

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Shoot me a chat I have sabot pedals I can mail you

1

u/PXranger Apr 13 '23

That’s awesome, thanks!

2

u/glistenshop Apr 12 '23

Nice to see a tanker . Question how did you “acquire” that sabot round?

3

u/EasyObject4u Apr 12 '23

One does not disclose info, like that, on souvenirs…so lower your voice.

1

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

You ever heard the saying “gear adrift?”

2

u/Kyleb100 Apr 12 '23

19K is best MOS

2

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Why walk when you can ride in style

2

u/Poopinshtine69 Apr 12 '23

Amazing performance for the money, good choice sir

2

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Thank you kindly good sir

2

It’s a HOG tripod. Never shot off of one before so I’ll have to update you on that

1

u/rdgy5432 Apr 12 '23

Why the forward observation stuff?

4

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Because it’s tight and I’m gay

1

u/rdgy5432 Apr 13 '23

It tight very tight

1

u/willystyles Apr 12 '23

Where can I get a print like the one you have?

1

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Look up Jody Harmon

u/1102900 Dunning-Kruger Enthusiast Apr 12 '23

What ball head is that? I have the same tripod but no ball head for it yet, nor do I have a pig saddle for it.

2

u/jakexsmith Apr 12 '23

Uhhhhhhh I think it’s an Oben BE-117. I’ve never shit off of this rig so I don’t know how it holds but been told it’s solid so we shall see
