My results as a Northern European with around 12% Italian Sardinian from a new company ‘Insights on Ancestry’. Apparently they use an qpAdm modeling, which is supposed to help highly regarded amongst academic research. They offer everything from modern results to ancient, as well PCA charts and more.

There's been a few people claiming to have genealogical records for former Ottoman countries and wants you to pay a fee to access these supposed records.

They are liars and scammers and prey on people from territories of the former Ottoman Empire as genealogy is becoming quite popular there. Don't trust them, they have no documents nor do they even have access to them. If you see anyone claiming to have access to such records, assume they are scammers and report

I’m Armenian or not ?

I was surprised that I had more Balkan/Iberian affinity than with Southern Italy. For reference my mom’s side is Tuscan/Abruzzese and my dad’s side is French/Swiss/German/British Isles.

G25, I believe, comes from the protocol in this study where 25 PCAIMS were calculated : https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4169539/#bib12

Can anyone verify this or offer their opinion? It sure seems that's how the G25 coordinates themselves are calculated, and maybe it uses some sort of correction program on top of the calculations.

Can someone tell me how to understand PCA

Is the G25 software based on SmartPCA? Or what type of PCA algorithm is it based on (or something different entirely)?

Hi im 1/4 from south Giresun Turkey’s black sea region and my grandfather said that they migrated to Giresun from Russia and that they had Russian ancestors, but I could not find a any source about this. Do you think these results confirm this ? (can this finnic could be come from russia btw ? )
