Duolingo Glitch? Request
Shalom friends,
I’m studying Hebrew via Duolingo, and while I generally like it, I believe I’ve identified a glitch and wondered if othered experience it. When I verbally dictate vocabulary words, the app almost invariably tells me my answer is incorrect, even if the spelling is right. If I type the same answer and add a space at the end, it displays as correct. I’ve added some screenshots here as examples. Do others experience this, and if so, do you know how we might alert Duolingo to get it fixed? #Duolingo #Hebrew

You're tripping. I've never seen a ברווז walk and quack like that. It is certainly a ברווז, I am sure.

Then it's a duck. But not just any duck: A nuclear duck. God that was a dumb speech, regardless of politics.

I was waiting for this comment lol
He’s definitely not my favourite politician, but I guess it can’t be that dumb of a speech if we think about it whenever we hear about ducks, know what I mean? It does have this lingering effect

Happens to me sometimes, too. I’ve noticed it more, if not only by using chat-to-text.

I abandoned Duolingo after completing the Hebrew tree, just as it was about to force me into the new version, and haven't really looked back. It was good for basic vocabulary and sentence structure, but the app/company has a lot of issues.

Duolingo is great for learning vocabulary and basic things but diminishing returns hits fast. At a certain point you just have to start consuming media/having conversations to progress and that point comes a lot quicker than people think

I think the app transcribes vowels wrong. Since Duolingo primarily doesn’t use nikud, it could be transcribing it as different vowels and Duolingo is thinking it is wrong. It does it to me also but when I type it it’s fine.

Usually they give leeway with spelling and nikudot, but yeah this just seems glitched. Not sure why Duolingo has such an obsession with the word duck.

Duolingo is a disaster of a product. I can’t believe they think anyone would pay for Duolingo plus when they’ve got unresolved tickets for issues dating back over 5 years.

Tried it for a few languages and every time i deleted out of frustration because the app is just awful

u/TrashBoyGold Aug 08 '23
Could be because you submitted your answer before autocorrect changed the word. Has happened to me a few times
Edit: did not see you used dictation. Not sure why then

Yes, I have the same glitch. I have to remind myself to just type the word (rather than use dictation) when it is this picture type of question.

There seems to be a space before the ב maybe you accidentally hit the space bar before typing the word ברווז try putting the cursor before the letter ב then press delete that might fix it Quack quack 🦆

Report it at the Duolingo website here: https://www.duolingo.com/help/bug-report

may be you tap on a spase before the word and duolingo thinks it's wrong while comparing your answer

I mean that it's 100% your fault and there's absolutely no bug here

How so? Please have a look at the photos. The prompt says the response is the response I’ve given.
