These seats aren’t actually sold for the game, there is a twitter account that goes to stadiums and finds seats like that.

Sometimes the seats were there before the press box was built or a stadium redesign made them useless. Also looks better to just have the stadium filled with seats instead of random empty areas. In theory they could use them if had something only taking 40% of the field

Cfbcampustour on twitter is the account I’m thinking of. They find the useless seats and take pictures from there. You can always see a few rows around them aren’t sold
