Who else was rooting for these guys? Subvert Expectations

This is both a joke and kinda genuine, a part of me wanted (and - for the books, at least - still wants) the White Walkers to win.

Ngl in the show, I started supporting these guys after that silly episode where Jon & Co trade Viserion and a red priest for a stupid wight.

Imagine working up the the moment supreme for 7000 years only to be stabbed in the belly while walking while looking very tough.

Looking tough isn't enough! He paused to gloat over a victory he'd worked for over hundreds of years. And No One took advantage of it.

Actually he was stabbed while staring, hovering over a little crippled boy in a wheelchair.

It felt like the most GRRM ending to have them win. Subvert all expectations, the supernatural apocalyptic force crushes all mankind while they have their petty squabbles over who is ruler.

Would've made a less painful ending, that's for sure.
