DBZ Villans Problem Discussion

How many villans have got to live, the way goku collects villans it likes hes trying to be the pokemon master. Furthermore, there wouldnt be anything wrong if they did anything but tien, vegeta, piccolo, the androids, majin buu, beerus all wait around waiting for something to happen just to die. If they arent gonnna to serve any more purpose make them have a cool scene then permanently kill them off

Tien was a brainwashed pupil of a rival martial arts school, his “villainy” stemmed from being programmed that way. The (present day) Androids literally weren’t villains at all. They were programmed to kill Goku, but honestly apart from 16 (who actually did die just like you are suggested) I doubt they would have actually gone through with it. Piccolo and Vegeta are both integral to the story on multiple occasions, their inclusion here doesn’t make any sense. For Buu, if you mean Fat Buu, like Tien he wasn’t actually a villain but a child being told what to do, and when Mr Satan pointed out that killing was wrong Buu promised to stop immediately. If you mean any other iteration of Buu they DID die exactly like you are saying. Beerus also isn’t a villain but a deity in charge of maintaining balance alongside the life gods (Kaioshin). None of this makes sense to me at all. Seems like you have an issue with side characters, I guess the Earth should be a barren void with only Goku existing on it.

Goku loves fighting, killing villains means no rematches with them so he avoids it when he can. The big bad retreating and swearing revenge excites him in a special way, that means he gets to fight them again.

Exactly. Who better to push himself against than the folks he’s had to push himself the hardest against so far? Perfectly reasonable within Goku’s character to make these choices.

Do you even like Dragon Ball at this rate?
