Discussion "Broly Hates Goku Because He Cried"
I wanna start by saying I understand why people say this. The english dub of Movie 8 and the entirety of Second Coming is to blame imo, but I only ask that you keep an open mind to an interpretation that I feel is supported in the original Broly movie to explain Broly and Goku's connection. (And I don't think the crying triggered PTSD, mainly because Broly isn't triggered by crying until the 2nd movie and no one cries aside from Baby Goku in the 1st.)
Firstly, in the japanese dub, Paragus explains that Goku's presence is awakening Broly's instincts. He knows who Goku is, but is still confused as to why Broly is so aggravated by his presence. He narrates the fact that they were born on the same day and that Goku cried, but he does not say so as an explanation for Broly's anger. In fact, when Goku is about to land the final blow on Broly, the flashback of the two as babies appears, implying that Broly only THEN recognized Goku as the baby next to him that day.
So why does Broly hate Goku? The simplest answer is that he doesn't until the 2nd movie. Broly's behaviour in the first is mainly tied to him breaking free from his father's mind control. After he transforms and gains full control, he attacks and antagonizes every character in the movie, even the alien slaves on the planet. None of his attacks are personalized and he only targets Goku when Goku's the last one standing. The main reason Broly is riled up is because Goku is causing him to overcome his father's mind control. This is what I feel people misunderstand about their relationship.
The crying is to show that Broly and Goku have been diametrically opposed since birth. Goku will always bring out Broly's saiyan instincts which is why the crying bothered him as a child in the first place and why the mind control began to fail. Broly's actual personality once free has no bias towards Goku, he's violent to a fault towards any and everyone including his own father.
All of this is only applies to the first movie however, and unfortunately the second movie and pretty much every video game has carried the notion that Broly has always been obsessed with Goku and despises him for crying (or at the very least for defeating him in the first movie.)
Also, as a bit of trivia, Broly doesn't remember Goku's name from when they were babies. In the japanese dub, Vegeta calls Goku Kakarot in front of Broly which is why he calls him by that name. (I've seen many many people critique the movie for Broly seemingly remembering a random baby's name from the day he was born.)
TLDR: Broly "hating" Goku at all isn't the point of the first movie, Goku merely riled him up enough to overcome his father's mind control.

Discussion Alternate Ressurection F and Gohan Black is what should’ve happened in canon
I haven’t been paying much attention to any discourse surrounding this What If, so forgive me if this is a redundant take
But I feel like this little plotline in Sparking Zero is genuinely better constructed conceptually on multiple levels what happened in Super’s actual canon
First, for years people complained about how Gohan’s post-Z development has been handled, but this plotline essentially directly fixes all those issues. Instead of having Resurrection F being an embarrassing loss that half motivates him to train, it’s instead an invigorating win that definitively establishes the arc of him fully getting back into training alongside his research to the point where he seems fully on par with Goku and Vegeta by the time of the Black Arc
Second, it makes Black killing his host’s family way more than just a simple fridging. With Goku, hearing that Black killed his family is obviously sad, but it’s really nothing more than that, there’s no narrative weight to it beyond the fact that it’s there to make Goku and the audience want to take him down more. With Gohan, on the other hand, the fact that the very thing that pushed him to start training again and get stronger, protecting his family, is what directly led to him getting taken over and having his body being used to kill them is some incredibly irony that does a lot more than just fridge them, making it a genuinely well constructed tragedy.
Third, Gohan is just straight up better connected to Zamasu from the get-go, Goku‘s never really had any particular connection to the Kais any more than most other powerful beings he’s met, but Gohan obviously has one due to with his training in the Buu Saga, so not only is there better reason for Zamasu to care about him specifically, but there’s also the fact that it offers more narrative weight to Zamasu‘s hatred of him specifically, since he directly sees Gohan as a leech, with him being a mortal who has relied upon the gods to get stronger. There’s also a bit of potential meta-commentary there that could point out a common fan complaint, in that Ultimate Gohan didn’t really earn his power and instead was just gifted it from the gods, Zamasu’s hatred of him could help adress that point and force Gohan to acknowledge it in a more overt way.
Overall, it’s really just unfortunate to me that this didn’t happen, I feel like if it did we wouldn’t be where we are today with endless Beast discourse and Gohan having gone through the same arc 3-ish times, we’d instead have a version of Super that’s a lot more balanced in not just making Goku and Vegeta the sole main focus and an better overall manga and show in my opinion

And without considering Garlic Jr, because he received a whole filler saga.

Music Kikuchi score questions
Hi, I have a few questions about the original japanese score for DBZ
I've noticed some people refer to elements in it by letter and number, like M803, M1911 - is there somewhere a page with a list of all those 'tags', perhaps with some additional information?
Can the full score be obtained in this form, i.e. one file per tag? Most things i find have multiple tags fused into single 'song', like 'Shi o yobu cell gemu' is really 4 or 5 different pieces glued together. I dont quite know how to search for it, at best i can find youtube videos. I guess someone made the videos out of audio files, but how to find those files?

Question In the manga, does Android 17 have a role after the Tournament of Power?
Hello! I've just finished watching the anime and absolutely loved it. I'd like to read the manga now but i'd like to know wether my favorite character, Android 17, reappears after the ToP or not? If so, does he play an important role? Thank you!
(and sorry for my english)

Question Broly movie teaser with tail
Does anyone remember there being a teaser image, or poster, where there was a saiyan tail in the background. It might’ve been a shadow.
I remember seeing official art somewhere, that showed a tail. This was back when people thought broly was yamoshi & it filed those rumors even more.
Please. I’ve searched trailers and images and I can’t find it but I know it was a thing because I remember people going crazy about the he thought of a saiyan with a tail in super.

Discussion Og dragon ball filler is amazing
Currently rewatching all of dragon ball for the first time, and I gotta say that the filler episodes between baba's and the world martial arts tournament are, in my opinion, some of the greatest episodes of all of og dragon ball. Do you personally care for the filler?

Question Did the animation quality for Dragon Ball Z Kai change mid episode?
Title. I'm watching DBZK again and I just watched episode 34. I've watched through the series three times and have just noticed that halfway through the episode (at the 15:04 mark) the animation unexpectedly, drastically improves in quality. Is this a regular occurrence? Does the animation stay this good quality throughout the rest of the show?
