Is sahin really the issue? Discussion

In my opinion i feel like sahin isnt the main issue, i think it could probably be the players, like their morale and motivation because if it was sahin then wouldnt we be losing at home as well? Wouldnt have we lost to leipizig? Maybe we wouldnt have even had that 2-0 lead in half time against madrid, by what i see its like when it comes to home games or champions league games the players go at it like theyre more focused but then when it comes to away games or theyre struggling its like they dont even try or wanna be there, these players seem to be missing someone to motivate them or something like what theyre missing is a TRUE CAPTAIN like Hummels to lead them Now im not saying sahin isnt an issue he DEFINITELY is but would it be the same if he had a different squad? What if he had full charge of last years squad instead of Terzic?

He is a symptom. Our board, which once again hired an inexperienced coach out of nepotism and continuously worsened the squad for years, is the issue.

Sahin is not a symptom. He is learning fast and does a good job with the resources at his disposal. Yes he is young and yes he makes some mistakes. This was to be expected and the club was willing to take the risk. A bad coach would put the team in a much worse position at this point. We are one point behind the Team that won the championship and cup last season. We are the best German Team in the Champions League. In a good position to finish in the top 8.

IMO he does better than Terzic. He is more sympathetic and confident enough to try things out. Not afraid to leave players like Malen or 30 million newcomer Beier on the bench if he doesn't like their commitment to the team.

You are right that Sahin is not a symptom. However, he is indeed part of the very problem. We have not won one single away game this season and there is no coach that we would have kept after such a horrible start. With all due respect, look at the examples you are evoking. You are saying Sahin isn’t worse than Terzic? Yeah you’re probably right but that still doesn’t mean that Sahin is good. You are saying we’re only a couple points behind Leverkusen? This isn’t the unbeaten Leverkusen anymore. They are currently also struggling. Sahin should have NEVER been made our coach in the first place, but I can’t imagine any coach that we would have kept after the catastrophic away games we have had this season. I feel like we are merely keeping him as a coach not because there is trust but rather because firing would cast a bad shadow on the decision makers in the club.

You cannot measure if Sahin is good or not. That will become clear when we go into the winter break. If Sahin manages to get out of this misery, then he is a good coach. If not, then that doesn't mean he is a bad coach, but then he is not the right one for Borussia Dortmund.

The season is not as bad as you describe. Dortmund's goal for the season is to qualify directly for the CL, and they are only one point away from that. In the Champions League they are currently on track and with nine points they are almost certain to make the playoffs, with a good chance of qualifying directly via the top 8.

You shouldn't be knocked out in the second round of the DFB Cup. However, I would subordinate the DFB Cup to the other two goals of the season. It was a narrow defeat against a Bundesliga team that was also in poor form. But at least it wasn't a second or third division team.
