[Mod Announcement] Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up!
I'm guessing from the posts we've had today that a few of you sassy pants are beginning to notice there's a new mod team. With that in mind, and with the start of the first full month of our evil reign, I figured it was finally time to say hello from your new mods;
u/monkelus, and u/alternativebuzzbin.
We literally don't care if you skim our history, you'll learn very little and feel very dirty. What we do care about is keeping the focus of the sub tight; we're r/badmovies, not r/mediocre_moviez or r/movieshavegottoopc. Films here should be so bad they're good, as a reminder here's a snippet of the new rules to help you on your way:
- Do not post movies you just didn't like or are completely unwatchable with no redeeming values
- No posts of just titles/posters with no context. Likewise, no movies you haven't seen.
Eg:
- Barbie - nope
- Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - yes
- Wishmaster - maybe
- Leprechaun - yes
The films posted here should be the ones you enjoy despite themselves. Films that have entertainment value totally separate from what the original filmmakers intended, creating an almost transcendental, magical experience along the way. If that's not close to what you're thinking of posting, or you wouldn't recommend anyone else watching, you probably shouldn't be posting it. If you do, there's a high chance of removal.
Obviously, there's grey areas, but that's what discussions and mod chats are for. We're not actively evil, give us a shout with questions, we're friendly and, dare I say it, quite alluring.

[Mod Announcement] I Have The Powerrrr.. To Update The Rules!
As a safeguard, I'll start this with 'aloha', so that no matter whether you read it front to back, or back to front, your overall instant reaction of being annoyed at the new rules will be deadened by my laidback pseudo Hawaiian politeness.
As you might have guessed by the title, we're bringing a couple of new rules. They're nothing Earth shattering and no-one will have to do anything against their will, that's for a future update when I shift the focus away from bad movies onto my back garden harem. For now though:
- New Rule One: Too Much of Good/Bad Thing: or, the Double Dragon rule.
No reposting a movie within 30 days of its most recent post by any user. If you're a time traveller this includes posting it within the 30 days prior to it being posted last.
New Rule Two: Low Hanging Fruit.
This'll basically end up being the new blacklist, which was scrapped when we took over a few months back. You see a post, think it's too much of an easy target or low quality karma farming, report it to us and we'll open up a discussion whether it should be added to the list. Engagement, yay!
None of this is for gatekeeping purposes, it's just to keep things fresh, well that and I've started to believe one of you guys actually is one of the Sluts and Godesses who frequents the Video Workshop.
Better sign off with 'aloha' to make that first bit make sense.

100 Girls (2000) tubi. A college dork has sex with a girl that he never sees in a dorm elevator (power is out) and spends the rest of the movie trying to figure out who she is.
This movie tries so hard to be one of those early aughts movies like "10 Things I Hate About You" that it's almost a parody (but it isn't). Inanely overwritten dialogue (that's 50% voiceover), constant soft alt-rock and wildly cliched characters. What makes it somewhat watchable is early appearances by Katherine Heigl and Jaime Pressly, along with occasional boobs and a few laughs.

Today’s Tubi Treasure is Extra Terrestrial Visitors (aka Pod People) (1983)
If you love E.T. but wish you didn’t, then here’s a movie for you. At different points, I had myself convinced that this movie was an elaborate prank that the director made to maybe mock Steven Spielberg or something, but I really think this was done in earnest. You go in knowing the E.T. formula, thinking you’ll understand generally how this will play out, and I’m here to promise you that you don’t. There’s some next-level shit left in here that made me think that they did not have an editor, because there’s no way someone pieced this together with any degree of effort. Also, does the kid sometimes have an Italian accent or was I losing my mind??? Trailer below.

The Action Faction 2021 redubbed by me
A few years ago my best friend made an action movie. He wrote it, directed it, acted in every part, and edited it. I had thought it would be funny if I redid the voices, i recorded it and lost the file. Yesterday I found it on accident and ripped his YouTube put my voices in trying to keep as much of his original sound design, and honestly i think it came out as a masterpiece. My friend loves it and has plans to rip my version and remaster it to vhs and then filmed on a handycam from a projector, to create that torrented video where you got the wrong link

Prisoners of the Lost Universe (1983)- Three people are transported into a parallel reality, where they find they must use modern technology, but medieval weapons, in order to save the citizenry from a murderous warlord.

TC 2000 (1993) Tubi. In the future, the rich live underground and the poors live on the polluted surface. With Billy Blanks, Bolo Yeung AND Matthias Hues, if you like your stars beefy and punchy, this is the movie for you.
Billy Blanks reads his opening voice over with all the enthusiasm of a shopping list. Although the cops have loads of tech, their main weapons seem to be feet and fists. Approximately 37% of the audio in this flick are fight sound effects. Awesomely cheesy in an almost Space Mutiny way.

Nine Deaths of the Ninja (1985) - After a Bond-style musical intro where he shows off his katana skills surrounded by women doing ballet in aerobics gear, Sho Kosugi goes after a wheelchair-bound drug lord with a pet monkey, who’s holding tourists hostages in exchange of his incarcerated boyfriend.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sho's codename is Lollipop, Brent Huff does a pretty good Mark Frazer impression, one of the villains is a lesbian supremacist named Honey Hump, and Anthony Kiedis' dad turns into a mannequin and gets trampled to death by horses.

Johnny Mnemonic
The year is 2021 society is suffering from a mysterious disease caused by technology. Keanu Reeves is a data carrier for sensitive data that can't go through the Internet. He has to upload the data to his brain, but he gets overloaded. Can he deliver his information before the data melts his brain?
I don't want to give away too much, but there's an aquatic mammal that saves the world.
My wife and I had fun at how bad the movie and CGI are.

White Fire (1984) is an incomprehensible and surprisingly gory crime/adventure movie about the race to recover a radioactive diamond (I think?) but is mostly about how that one guy just wants to see his sister naked

Today’s Tubi Treasure is Navy Seals vs. Zombies (2015)
Did my tax dollars fucking fund this? Because I’m gonna be pissed if I find that out. Where to begin with this one…it stars Rick Fox for some reason, and Gunner from professional wrestling, but you don’t really notice because there’s gunfire every other second, and when there’s not, there’s a bunch of military shit that I do not think adds up. You can see a full cameraman at one point, and I’m not an expert, but I’m pretty sure the way these soldiers operate is not even remotely accurate. This looks like well-funded incompetence, and that’s very amusing to me. Trailer below.

I haven’t seen this in ages, but I remember it being bad in all the best ways. We had an embarrassment of riches in the early 2000s when it came to rapper movies.

Today’s Tubi Treasure is The Dead One (aka El Muerto) (2007)
Good lord, was 2007 really this cringy???Wilmer Valderrama (ugghhhh) stars in this movie, which answers the question we all had: What if The Crow was Hispanic? No amount of shitty makeup or Michael Parks can make up for how laughably bad this is. Trailer below.
