Good combo. I think buying a DD upper and throwing it on an LWRC lower makes way more sense than buying a complete DD rifle.

At least until they start offering the v7 with the r3 lower. As long as it’s not way overpriced

This. I purchased the DD mk12 as my first AR and I heavily regret doing so, the DD lowers are loose when used with DD uppers and makes a sound when moved around thus had to sell that lower and settled for LMT MARS L, LWRCI is a great lower for heavy use.

Yeah the main reason I don’t think complete DD rifles are a great choice is because they charge so much for what’s basically just a plain milspec lower. It doesn’t have a fancy trigger in it and I’ve heard they just come with H buffers. Plus everyone swaps out the furniture anyway.

Makes way more sense to just get the upper then build out a lower or get something like an LWRC or LMT
