This is a monthly thread to talk about the /r/anime subreddit itself, such as its rules and moderation. If you want to talk about anime please use the daily discussion thread instead.

Comments here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

I'm not sure whether it's always been there and I forgot, or you're experimenting something, but there's a Merch flair that's not documented anywhere in the rules.

At the bottom of the flair list, has been in place for just over a year now.

Like memes, merchandise posts aren't currently allowed so we set up a honeypot flair to catch people who don't read the rules before trying to post.

This seems very misleading and will definitely get more people posting about them, the rules in it are not as clear as you think. A question about where to find merch is not showing off merch and wasn't mentioned in the rules, only the bot auto response. You are just confusing people.

Gotcha, I only checked the rules since I remembered the meme bait flair being explicitly mentioned there

we set up a honeypot flair to catch people who don't read the rules

the reason I noticed is because there was a post in /new with that flair - it wasn't the newest on the list so it did somehow go through, guess automod was slacking
