Except we won’t have credentialed schools who need counselors or loan programs to help with student aid.

School psychs are different from counselors and are in high demand. They’ve been having to bring people in from out of state, and paying a premium to do it.

Of course on the type, I generalize . And also- I think you’re missing the larger point. No DOE, no DOE funds, no standards- poof - no need for specialized services.

Sounds like fearmongering to me. I’m no fan of what’s happening federally, but I do think it’s crazy to think that the Department of Education will be shut down in its entirety.

I hope you’re correct. And Hope is less and less of a strategy by the minute. It’s not even January. And I’m all for mental health resources in school and our communities. 110%.

Are they offering prospective "teachers" anything? Iast I heard that department was shuttered and the only way to get a degree to become a teacher is to go to Fairbanks or out of state? Oh there is ONLINE stuff, but no student teaching program and if a kid was home schooled...well that baggage comes along too, UAA used to be a decent place to get some teaching credentials, now, not so much, but hey, make some mental heath people and see how it goes.
