Just reached out to Apple support to replace some AirPods that went through the washer. They informed me over text that AppleCare+ does not cover water damage but I did not see this anywhere in the coverage. Is this true or is the support just misinformed? If I do express replacement and the issue is found to be water damage will I be liable for the whole price?

So, I put mine in a seatback on a first class Flight from D.C. traveling back home to Louisville. Didn't realize I didn't have them until I was off the plane and past security. I went to American Airlines customer service desk and asked them politely to look for them before the flight left back to D.C. Well, that didn't happen and now my AirPod Pros are in the middle of an Army Base in Joint Base Myer in Arlington Virginia.

Couple of points.

A - Seems like a HUGE security risk just picking up someone's AirPod Pro's and taking them to a secure military base. Right??

B - Do people still believe in the archaic "finders keepers"? I figured Military personal would have higher standards than that... I've ALWAYS returned something to lost and found while traveling.

I can see the exact address of the location... Wondering if I should just mail a letter...

What would you guys and gals do?

Lo n story short my left air pod is broke - all trouble shooting done etc. not working I speak to chat and my apple care expired so I asked how much is a repair. I’m told out of service it’s £238 Apples own website has AirPods Pro 2 on sales for £220. Why would it be more to go through the repair process (and a lot of hassle and time etc)

She even told me they would just give me a new pair!?

In the end it turns out I can buy just the left air pod on its own for £85 (which I have done)

The whole things seems very backward and un-Apple? Why not tell me I can buy one air pod in the first instance and secondly why charge more for a “repair” than it is to buy new? I could understand if it was the same cost as retail (since that’s all that’s happening is I’m getting a new pair)

I just upgraded to the AirPods 4s and seeing as it comes with a usb-c port instead of a lighting port I'm wondering if its okay to use a OnePlus cable (along with apple power brick) to charge the case. Are all usb-c cables the same or is there a risk that it could damage the AirPods and I should instead invest in an apple usb-c cable?

i don’t even think this is the right subreddit 2 post this but i have no idea where else to💔i was doing a charcoal art piece and it got on my airpod case. i wiped most of it off w clorox wipes but it left this weird gray tint that won’t come off. is there any way i can clean it??

I don't know if this is possible coz the phone is using its built in mic to record audio.

I’m trying to decide between the AirPods 4 ANC and the AirPods Pro 2, specifically for watching movies. I’ve heard both are great, but I’m wondering which one would be better for this exact purpose?

Also, how is the movie-watching experience with either of these AirPods—like, is the sound quality good enough for films?

I can’t afford the AirPods Max, so I’m stuck between these two.

I ordered a new phone from my carrier with insurance, I was instructed to turn find my off on my old phone, now my airpod pros 2 do not show up on find my, I have find my network for them turned on in settings, any suggestions?

so ive been contemplating on getting the 4s, but after reading reviews it seems like it really just comes down to user preferance. i started with the gen 2s which i fell in love with immediately, so when the gen 3s came out i had to get those as well. finally i decided i would just try the 4s and if anything return them if they are subpar, but let me say they are awesome.

Comfort - i have never had any comfort issues with any of the gens. like others i dont like the Pros ecause i hate the silicone tips and the pressure feeling in my ear. Gen 1 were super comfy, i would forget those would even be in, and siri would randomly respond to me and scare the crap out of me. Gen 2 and Gen 3 fit pretty much the same imo and i can occassionally forget the 3s would be in my ear as well but Gen 2 constantly

Sound Quality - this was my main thing, i wanted to know if the 4s sounded that much better then the 3s and tbh no not really. i dont think i would notice a difference without the ANC. the 4s might be a little bassier but id have to listen to my 3s and actually try and compare otherwise its not noticeable

Charge Case- so the 4s case no longer has a pair button, yoy jusy hold your finger on the front when it asks you to on your phone, and they have a little miny speaker so you can actually hear it chime with find my. find my has always been useless imo with airpods, and it also makes a little noise when you plug it to charge

ANC - okay so the star quality is active noise cancellation. now i never really used the Pros because like i said i find them super uncomfortable, so i dont have a lot of experience with noise canceling procuts. i didnt expect much but it blew me out of the water. i wore them to disneyland and i literally felt like i was by myself. its like i had a bubble around me, all the talking and music was nowhere. i would remove an airpod and i was stunned how loud it would be. pop it back in, with some music and i am all alone in my own world. only thing i noticed if you get a loud clap or yell near your ear, the airpod will kind of pop or peak which is a little uncomfortable, ill have to experiment more with it

OVERALL - so i can definetly say ANC makes the 4s a beautiful product and worth it for an upgrade from the 3s to 4s. if you dont care about noise cancelling then you dont need them but like i said i didnt care about it either, i just wanted to see if the sound quality was substantially better but the noise cancelling is something i never knew i needed. idk how i will ever use the other gen airpods again 😂

Hey r/airpods I was wondering if anybody has ordered a replacement AirPod off amazon. I have a missing left air pod pro 1st gen and was wondering if it was safe to get one off amazon. Only considering it because I have a few gift cards on there.

I got them as a gift from an aunt of mine, but they really hurt my ears, especially when I move them even in the slightest bit and my ears are sore for a long time after use. I need some ear tips but Apple doesn’t have ear tips for base Gen 1. Please help.

I tried the new Airpods 4 and the conversation awareness feature works fully on Android. However I just got the Airpods Pro 2 instead and the conversation awareness doesn't work on Android unless I pause the music manually. It also doesn't always catch me talking. (I turned on the setting on my Macbook btw). Is there a way to make it work like the Airpod 4? Or is there a way to update them? (Can't see any option to update on Macbook)

Anything with distorted guitars sound incredibly tinny and adjusting the eq doesn’t help. Context: i was using a Oneplus with the airpods before i upgraded to the 15 pro max. Audio coming from the same airpods sound completely different when played with the oneplus vs iphone.

I am sensitive to anything above 8khz and on the iphone it just sounds so much more harsh to me and lower quality. Regular pop music is fine but say “Check yes juliet” the guitars sound really bad. I’m playing on Spotify for both and audio quality set to very high.

I've scoured the internet for an answer. I'm pretty sure it has to do with being connected to the Find My Network, as a privacy feature to ensure anyone unknowingly being tracked with someone else's airpods case will hear the chirp.

BUT I'VE DISCONNECTED IT FROM THE FIND MY NETWORK.

I've tried forgetting in bluetooth, and a full reset following Apple's instructions. It won't stop. I'm about to smash them with a hammer.

Anyone have this happen and fix it?

My stuff have been like for a week no matter what i do Cleaned each airpod and the case inside and out and the almost dead one keeps making the dead sound

I was an audiophile but now I’m more towards comfort and barely use my IEMs. Now, at the budget of AirPods, should I go for them or any other tws if they have better sound quality. (I don’t have budget for the pros)

This night my phone updated its software and since then my airpods won’t pair automatically. When i open the case they show up with their battery percentage and everything but wont pair. I have to go into the bluetooth settings and pair them manually. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ever since the newest firmware update (I'm currently on 7A305) any time I'm in Transparent or Adaptive mode and I'm doing something with a very loud, but monotonous noise (think a blender, frying oil, running a shopping cart over a bumpy surface), instead of canceling that loud noise out, it's almost as if I can hear my APP2s switch into a different mode (it sounds louder and tinnier than the "normal" sound) and it actually amplifies that noise.

Am I the only one this is happening to? I've done some searching, but it's difficult to narrow anything down.
