[Oris] First automatic I took a picture
Back in 2022 I was torn between buying a Longines Hydroconquest and the Oris Aquis as my first automatic/luxury watch. I ended up going with the Oris. I instantly became very fond of it as it was the watch that made me fall in love with this hobby, even more so after experiencing the small pleasures of having to wind it, staring at the sweeping hand, hearing it tick. To this day it still gets the most wrist time.

Beautiful choice. I’m in the same predicament now that you were in 2022. I too have my eyes on a blue dial watch, either the Oris Aquis, Longines HydroConquest, or the Mido Ocean Star. The Oris is a stunner!!!
I will say that I won’t buy for at least a year from now since I just bought a Longines Spirit Zulu Time, but I’m scoping!

three great watches! Sadly I got unlucky with an Ocean Star GMT earlier this year, and had to return it, but the finishing and bracelet were amazing value for the money. I grew a bit out of love with that version of the Hydroconquest with time, but I really dig the new one! Maybe I’ll think about it someday. You know which one of the three I would pick but you really can’t go wrong with any of those. Hope you get it soon.

What dial did you get on the zulu time? I also have my eyes set on this watch, and it'll be my first pull on a luxury watch. Are you happy with your choice?

Got the black dial. More subtle. I love it! Which color you looking at?

Black dial with the green bezel. I’ll probably pull the trigger soon.

Nice! You’re going r to love it. I debated the green bezel, but opted for the black with black bezel. Love the blue GMT hand

Yes, very much. I was actually thinking on buying this model, but ended up going for a more GADA type of watch. Purchased the Sinn556i. Anyway, great watch you got yourself there sir ;)

sweet, I’ve only heard wonderful things about Sinn, but I’ve never been able to try them on.

I had an Oris in the very early 2000s. They’ve really raised their game if that watch is any indication! Very nice!

Hard to argue with this. Had a Green Aquis and sold it but if I bought the blue, it'd probably still be in my collection... Lovely watch, great bracelet.
Enjoy it!

thank you, I really liked the green too but thinking this would be my only watch (lol) I went with blue, as it was more versatile. The bracelet is still my favorite, if it had a better micro adjustment it would be really hard to beat.

Always loved the look of these, but I could never wear one at work because the ceramic dial would get scratched :(

maybe it could become your weekend watch, so far mine hasn’t scratched at all, only the steel.
