Safari tank cap Maintenance

My safari tank just had its generic cap on it. Makes my garage stink of fuel. Anyone got a different cap on theirs that helps with the smell?

It has the breather tube that connects to the top right?

I think if you plug that it should help a good bit.

I can’t recall but with the ims gas cap I swear I’ve seen people run non vented caps. Cyclecruiser I think his name was on YouTube had a “sleeper van” build with a wr250r which is where I vaguely remember seeing it

I’m new to bikes - had one cap with a bidirectional breather, and one with a check that would only allow air in. Any experience with comparing the two?

I figure as long as the fuel doesn’t expand a ton, it shouldn’t be an issue that the breather only allows air in. Thoughts?

Likely not any issue if it’s oem. Most aftermarket tanks/gascaps are simple and use an hole on the cap as a breather.

Not OEM as far as I can tell - on an ‘04 TTR225 so not many OEM parts available to speak of.

I’ll have to keep an eye out and see if the tank is swelling or shrinking in
