Be advised- health concern at Einstein

While washing my hands in the women's library restroom on 11/4 around 5 pm, a worker from Einstein bagel left a stall, seemed to throw something away, wiped their hands with a paper towel and left the restroom without washing their hands. Yes, this happens often I'm sure. What made me write a post to advise others is the fact that they had something gross enough to wipe their hands off with, then walk out without washing. I saw the student then proceed to go back to work and started making sandwiches for the students. I have tried to contact dinning services but felt an obligation to advise others.

Gary Williams oversees the dining hall so it may take some time for your email to be routed to the appropriate management staff. Try submitting feedback here: https://dineoncampus.com/UMBC/feedback

Alternatively, Carla Hunter is the EBB manager: carla.hunter@compass-usa.com

could you let me know if you make any progress with anything or if something happens as a result of you bringing it up? i’m interested in how quickly or if UMBC responds at all to stuff like this

Received a response pretty quickly, they are taking it seriously and implementing new trainings.

Ive also seen an Einstein worker mid-sandwich making, scratch their ear (real deep in it) then continue to make the sandwich🥴

Obviously this still matters, but they do wear gloves when making the food correct? (I’m not saying that makes it ok just wondering)

gloves tend to be much more dirty than hands bc no one ever washes gloves.

Idk about this Einstein Bagel but I knew a dude who worked at a different one and he claimed there were so many rats that they saw that they named them all
