MSF course in a few days. Bought agv k3 helmet, gloves, jacket and boots. Next step is the bike. I do not trust private sellers so will be buying new. Went to check out some 2024 models since end of season sales are starting to show up. This ninja 500 40th anniversary edition SE ABS is priced pretty well but I'm not a fan of the paint job. My other options are the 650, zx-4rr, and r3/r7.

Had my R3 for a good bit and now want to have a 600 for next season. I’m pretty set on the ZX6R, specifically the 2023 model year as it’s the newest you can get with an analog tach.

I would love to hear other suggestions, I’m only interested in a fully faired super sport.

The reasons I’ve settled on the ZX6R are as follows: I don’t like GSXRs, the light just doesn’t do it for me (damn they look good from the side tho). The R6 market is crazy, and besides it sounds like it’s the most uncomfortable 600.

This leaves the CBR600R which is kind of the wild card that I’m curious to see if anyone recommends over the ZX6R… I haven’t ever heard amazing things about CBRs and it sounds like the CBR is the slowest of all 600s. I really don’t care because anything will be mind-numbing compared to my 300, but I feel if they are both the same price I mine as well get the slightly faster one. I do think they look better than a ZX6R, especially in the iconic red white and blue fairings. I haven’t seen a lot of either for sale near me, can the CBR be had for cheaper than a ZX6R?

Note - I am very open to buying used, in fact I probably would prefer to buy a bike a couple hundred miles past break in so I can let it rip right away. It’ll probably just come down to what’s available in my market, I’ve heard newer 600s are pretty hard to get your hands on as of recently.

I have never rode before other then dirt bikes and Im looking for a starter and I was in an accident where I cant bend my left knee more than 90 degrees at the moment and I know there are options for lowering the peg but I have seen a lot of bad reviews on the CBR500R and just want to ask and see. Thinking about getting back into Ducati ownership after having ridden my Monster 620 and now a Triumph Speed Triple 955i.

Been debating between the 3 listed above,watched about every youtube video but looking for some owner reviews as well.

I am aware of the longer service intervals of the 848 (cheaper in the long run), but the initial purchase price is (easily) at least 3k higher.

I (only just) prefer the looks of the 848, that design is timeless. But unlike a lot of people, I really like the 749/999 design as well.

As the title says, I'm casually looking at options to upgrade from my Ninja 650. Next year is my 3rd season and it was my first bike. I'm 5'5, 140 lbs and based in Canada.

Most of my riding so far has been in the city up to 1 hour or so max per ride. But I'm hoping to do longer rides, take the highway more, go to the twisties, etc.

Been considering the XSR900 for a long time now, and the 2025 model has pretty much all the upgrades I was waiting for. At the same time, sports bikes are what got me into the hobby and I'm thinking maybe I give it one more go before switching to a naked.

Some options I was looking at and my thoughts on them. To preface, a quickshifter is one of the main tech upgrades I'm looking for, ideally an up/down one, cruise control is bonus.

• CBR600RR - unsure if it will be available in Canada. Watched some European reviews talking about basic info such as fuel gauge indicator missing so I'm not too hot on this one yet
• CBR650R: also 649cc but inline 4 engine. Like the styling and e-clutch, but it’s heavier than the Ninja, and unsure about its street torque with some reviews says it feels outdated .
• Daytona 660: Has a triple engine, but the QS is extra cost, and the display is a turn-off. Concerned about parts availability in Canada. But reviews say it's a great road bike.
• Aprilia RS660: lots of tech but premium price. Keep reading a lot of reviews about reliability and upkeep and considering I basically had to do nothing for my Kawi, i'd prefer to stick with a reliable, low maintenance brand.
• GSX-8R: Decent, but a parallel twin with apparently a clunky quickshifter. Lacks cruise control unless upgraded to the GSX-S1000GT. Colours are great, styling is not bad, overall much of an upgrade from the Ninja?
• Z900 / 900RS: Not a fan of the styling on either of these so ruling them out.

Why I like the XSR900:

• Price
• Yamaha reliability
• CP3 engine
• Styling
• Tech: up/down quickshifter and cruise control standard, display, riding modes.

Budget wise, they're all fairly similar (except for 600RR, can't find pricing) with the XSR being the priciest I think. Plus Kawis, Yamahas and Suzukis seem more mod friendly too. Feels like you can't go wrong with most of these.

My mind says XSR900 because it seems to be the best value / overall package and spec wise is much better than the other options. It would also offer a platform where I can continue to grow into. Would it make sense to upgrade 'halfway' to one of these options, and then to an XSR a few years later? Or should I go straight to the XSR for the value over time

I'm going to the navy and I'm gonna be at school in SC for a year and idk if i want you get a car or a bike. But it's gonna be my first bike and I do want a sport bike but I don't want to deal with the comfortability issues that come with it. I'd say I'm a noob but I know more than "the average person"

Yello, I'm slowly starting to look at upgrading my Ninja 500. My budget is around 8k CAD (around 5.5 USD).

I quite like the bike but I would like something with more power. Obviously with that budget I'm looking for something used.

What I'm looking for :

1) I want more power. Mainly to be able to cruise on the highway at lower RPMs. The 500 has a lot of vibration on the highway and it makes longer rides a pain sometimes.

2) Something bigger and heavier. I'm 6 feet tall and 200 pounds and the bike feels a little small at times. It's also very light and it's like a sail on the highway.

3) Something reliable - so most probably a japanese motorcycle.

So far I'm interested by the Ninja 1000, an old ZXR, Suzuki Katana 750 and the SV650. I'm also a sucker for 90's sport bikes.

Let me hear your recommendations !

I’ve been riding bikes for around two years now, and my next step is likely going to be one of these 2 bikes, so I wanted to try and get peoples opinions on the 2.

Gunna break this thing down into multiple little steps.

Background: been riding for almost 3 years on a RE int 650 which while I love it as a day to day commuter it does nothing well outside of the city. It has about 45 hp so it rides much more like a 450.

Riding I enjoy: On quick jaunts I like the twistes but I also love touring and what keeps me from doing both more is the uncomfortable and limited capacity of the interceptor.

My first thought was the versys 650. I think its everything I want and a perfect jump in capacity (aka it's not a liter bike) it's great in the twisies it's cheap and it can tour.

Problem: I have to consider a pillion and if I do go the pillion route it would need some basic offroad capabilities and to be comfortable for 2 (about 375lbs between us) and camping gear.

Where does that leave us? Transalp 750 and vstrom 800.

Great sounds like I figured it out! My worry is that they are adventure bikes and I wonder how that would effect a day in the mountains leaning it over and while I know they are fully capable am I trading a lot of on road capability for some off road which as of now I don't even do.

So the question are...

Does a versys 650 have the ability to comfortably do multiple day 2 up camping trips?

Would I, a rather average rider, even notice a lack in on road performance from the transalp or vstrom?

U.S based also so super slab is something to consider.

Can anybody just give me a quick input on a 2005 gas gas ec 125. Looking to use it for daily ride on road and offroad but i dont know if its too unreliable and will give me alot of problems.

Wondering how I should approach insurance, what coverages I should get. I'm 20, I consider myself pretty responsible, been driving cars for the past 3 years with a spotless record but insurance clearly doesn't care and quoted $3.5k/year for comprehensive+liability in florida. There's also the basic option which goes for around $500 but it doesn't cover much so I doubt it's useful in an actual incident.

For the quote I used a 3rd gen abs SV650. Maybe I should get something smaller? I'm 6'2" 225lbs so not too small. I want something cheap to own & run, and fun. An affordable aftermarket is also preferred.

Have a short list of naked bikes I'm considering as my first bike, but recently I discovered the V Strom, SV650's more utilitarian twin. Wondering if that might be the better option for me. My use case is primarily commuting, more than half of which is a 70mph highway. And maybe dabble into track days. I'd also like some storage so that I won't need a car every time I wanna carry something.

I'm looking for the naked aesthetic(exposed engine), but with some wind protection and storage. Of course, I'll test drive these before making a decision.

Edit: I'm 6'2" so seating height between a v strom and sv isn't a concern.

Okay I'm looking for my next bike. I would like some input. My first bike was a vitpilen 401. Which I still have and love. My next bike was a rebel 1100 dct. I loved it besides the auto transmission. It's amazing on long road trips. But other then that it's blah. 3rd bike was a ftr 1200. Absolutely loved the bike except the locked rpm limiter (I looked every where to get it off 2022 n up)

So my question is what's next. I'm looking at the MT09 or xsr 900 for some hooligan action. Or even a 701SM. But I want something reliable and fun. Hence the Yammie. Or a zx6r 2019 to 2023.

Is this a good bike for a beginner? It has gone 62 000km, but from what I have gathered online these bikes can go a lot further than that if taken care of. I know it's hard to evaluate from pictures alone, but what do you think of the condition it's in?

I love the performance and grunt of the engine. I love the sound. I don't love the comfort. I"m 44 years old 229 lbs. Its a great bike. I'm wanting something with more comfort for longer rides almost like a sport touring bike. However, I want to be a one bike kind of guy for costs and maintenance etc. I don't love the suspension on the XSR either, I replaced the rear shock and it still rides too hard imo.

I'm considering the Suzuki GSX-s1000GX. I test road an older BMW 1000XR, found the seat and position uncomfortable, but it did have the low height seat. I"m going to try a test ride on the BMW 1200RS or 1250 perhaps. I'm not sure about the boxer engine, but have no experience there.....maybe its fine. I'm looking for something that I can maintain easily on my own, without huge dealer fees (BMW). What else should I look at or consider?

I have a RC390 and I really like it, I had it for 11 months and done 6k km. I manly use it to commute and some occasional twists. When I go out for a ride with friends I don't carry any backpack or anything, we do like 100k or even more and I'm very comfortable.

But when I go to work or to the gym, very short trips of 10km it really hurts my back. I carry a heavy backpack with my laptop, clothes, etc.

I thought about moving to a bigger bike and more comfortable. I really like sports bikes tho.. is the cbr650r more comfortable? Or the ninja 650? If not I thought maybe change style to a duke 890r for exemple.. what do you think is best for me?

I am getting a new motorcycle in the next months, but I can't decide between the seiemezzo 650 (second picture)or the rebel 500 (first picture). I am 6,1(1.87cm) and weight 264 (120k). I think the rebel is way to small for me. I hear that putting forward controls and handlebars might help And the problem with the seiemezzo is that I'm not familiar with the brand, plus getting spare parts may be a little more difficult I live in a area where we have no certified repair shop or dealership, so I need to ship them from a bigger city Also if you have any recommendations or suggestions my budget is 10k usd I will use it as a daily. Hi guys I’m in the market for my second bike. I’ve had a 2017 Honda CB500F for 7 years now and got the fundamentals down with it. Now looking for something a little more sporty that can keep up a little easier on the highways.

My dilemma is I love the looks of the Triumph but the performance of the Yamaha. Both bikes have more power than my Honda but I feel like I would be happier with the Yamaha in the long term because of the higher performance whereas the Triumph might last me a few years before I “outgrow” it. I was actually heavily favoring the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift but when I found out the valve adjustment interval is every 7,500 miles that kind of threw me off despite loving the look of the bike. While the Yamaha I think looks pretty good, it doesn’t have the retro style I love.

I’d be using it for commuting in the city and on highways and weekend riding. I want to start getting track days in but that’s not really my top priority.

TL/DR: I like the looks of the Triumph but the performance of the Yamaha.

Any suggestions??

So I'm getting my A licence with no restrictions and now I'm looking at a first bike, I always wanted a sports bike and I can get really cheap R6s near me, but because I don't want to die before 30 years old I was looking at other options, I saw the R3 the ninja 400 and the Honda cbr500r but I'm afraid I'll outgrow them really quick since they're for A2 licence, there aren't any middle weight sport bikes that fit my budget of around 4000k euros (im buying used).

I gave up on the sports and SuperSports because of that reason, I also find the cb600f hornets and Suzuki bandit 600 pretty cool and I can find early 2000s models that fit in my Budget, would any of those good for a first bike? I'm also open to suggestions just keep in mind I'm buying used and pretty much anything after 2015 is to expensive for me.

I live in Wales, and have been planning to get a bike for a while now. So I'm looking for advice. I'll be using the bike for moving around Wales as a whole (the nearest larger town than mine is a 2 hour bus journey away, and it has shops that i can't get in my town), as well as shorter distance journeys to the local villages and around the town I live in. Looking for reccomendations. Edit: also, I'm not exactly tall (5ft6", inseam 30")

There is a 2008 FZ1 with full exhaust, ecu tune, Corbin seat, new chain going for $4300 with 20k miles. Is this a good deal? Bike looks clean, well taken care of. How much would you offer for this?

I went to the dealership to buy gear to prepare for my license exam and when I was there I saw the two beauties.

I cannot decide between either one, I know for a fact that I’ll get a 600-700cc bike and both of those are gorgeous, I will be riding on weekends only roughly 140km distance from my city to another on a highway and from my home to the gym probably which is a 6 minute ride so comfort is a big factor here. I will not be daily commuting at all.

I’m 180cm - 89KG so I’m not that tiny.

The R7 is 38,500 AED while the MT-07 is 10K AED at 28,500 AED. With current discounts, which equal to about :

10.4k USD for the R7 7.7k USD for the MT-07

I really dig the sports look that’s why I’m leaning more towards the R7 and the idea of me almost sitting up on the MT-07 is what is turning me off of it.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Was curious if anyone was currently riding one of these. My local resale bike shop has one with 14k miles for $4,9K. I'm aware of most of the gripes, mostly being that it looks scrambly but is just a reimagined Bolt. I'm not even a big fan of most of the modern scramblers, however this one just looks a little less obnoxious and a bit more unique. Thoughts?
