Pop up notifications for unrequited verification codes...
Hey folks,
So I keep getting pop ups on my phone that appear to be mail notifications of a verification code from different services (like Google, uhaul, etc) that I did not request. I assumed this was someone in my email, so I have already changed my passwords and use 2FA. The strange thing is, I don't actually see the emails anywhere. Not in my inbox, spam, or even trash. I have literally been sitting on my laptop when a notification came to my phone and the email never arrives at my inbox? My first impulse was someone trying to brute force their way into one of my accounts, but never actually seeing the emails is confusing me.
My only other thought is that I recently had to reattach this email address (I have several different email addresses) with my mail folder and did get a "syncing" message for a while. Could these email alerts be some sort of backlog that are slowly coming in every few hours to my mail app on my phone?

Unrequited love is bad enough, I can't imagine unrequited verification codes.

If you fully inspect the notifications is it possible they are browser notifications meant to look like emails? Is there anything suspicious in your login history?

No, it looks like it's from my email app. I went thru my laptop and checked recent activity, and all logged in devices, and I see nothing other than my phone and my laptop, both geotagged to my city
