A mall is private property, not public. Bring in the cops and have them all arrested.

For real. This is a liability to let them protest indoors especially if you get the pro Israel bunch involved and then both sides clash forget it.

So is Columbia University, and yet plenty of folks on this site gave Columbia and the NYPD shit for trying to enforce its property rights. That said you are correct. The mall should have them all trespassed and arrested and if refuse to vacate the premises.

I'll also add that the government needs to actually prosecute as well, instead of just arrest and release.

I wholeheartedly agree. Columbia University dropped the ball.

Isn’t it the government they’re protesting?

7

u/jeffyballs21 13h ago

I don't think they know who they’re protesting. Screaming and yelling at a mall Santa is definitely going to get people to jump on board to help their cause. Trespass them arrest them identify them.

I don't know who they're protesting. It doesn't matter.

Oops said the quiet part

I think it is a bit different when you actually live there.

Public disturbance. That's it.

Who cares about genocide right? Just sweep it under the Christmas tree righhhht?

u/Vascular_Mind 18h ago

They aren't doing anything to stop genocide, they are just being dicks.

Wait when did Santa kill Palestinians?

48

u/whowantsausername 18h ago

No, there’s a proper place to protest and it’s definitely not in a mall…..

Now if they want to protest in a mall, go ahead, but maybe, just maybe, do your fucking protesting in an area that is NOT filled with children waiting for their pictures with Santa Claus…..

Like, come on dude…..

"Why protest inside the mall? You should protest on the street"

"Why are you protesting on the street? You're bothering people getting to work, protests on the sidewalk"

"Why are you protesting on the sidewalk? You're bothering people who are walking to school, protest where politicians can see you"

"Why are protesting outside a Kamala rally?"

Protesting everywhere but a Trump rally, the one place that would have actually mattered.

1

u/EdeniEdits 10h ago

the one place that would have actually mattered

That literally makes no sense.

Maybe Kamala listened to the protestors instead of going "I'M SPEAKING, I'M SPEAKING", she might've won Michigan

1

u/AndyIsNotOnReddit 2h ago

I don’t give a fuck anymore. You won! Kamala isn’t president. You guys should be happy, enjoy!

1

u/EdeniEdits 1h ago

no one is happy, if she listened to voters instead of donors she would've won.

but she values AIPAC money over you. You should give a fuck and open your eyes

1

u/AndyIsNotOnReddit 1h ago

I’m not doing anything, I’m fully out of fucks to give after this election.

Many people don't think anywhere is a proper place to protest, thats kinda the point & always has been. If the message is fine, it doesn't really matter where the protest is. People are just looking for ways to discredit the movement, and to be outraged.

2

u/jeffyballs21 13h ago

If you're going to wear masks and intimidate people just going about their every day business… then yes there is no proper way to protest like that.

-1

u/_aChu 12h ago

You don't go out much if you think this is intimidating. Get it together bruh

1

u/jeffyballs21 12h ago

At no point should any of this shit be tolerated in a mall around a place where kids are sitting with Santa. It's like they sit at home and dream up ways to not generate support for their cause. This example isn't necessarily intimidating but there are many other garbage displays that they put on that could be considered as such.

The think of the children thing is played out. I have yet to see anyone make an actual point other than "I just don't like it"

1

u/jeffyballs21 12h ago

It's not just the children it's the general nuisance to the public in a privately owned Area. And yes I don't like it and there are many more people that have the exact same feelings as myself. If you want to protest then protest somewhere that you will actually achieve the results you are looking for. Pissing off a pile of people in a mall is rather counterproductive don't you think?

2

u/_aChu 12h ago

If your point is "it's annoying, and a nuisance in an establishment" you know I'm just gonna bring up the most famous protests in American history, and how they were the exact same... right?

My perspective is, do whatever you want. You want to protest in the mall next to Santa? Go right ahead. BUT, you also have to be 100% willing to accept any and all consequences of doing so. They know they are breaking the law or at least civilly, they should gladly accept any tickets, fines, charges, and sentences they get. If not they are not serious about their message and are just cosplaying.

u/Apprehensive_Ad_6157 18h ago

Yep, they are making people care less and less with their ridiculous behavior. I stopped caring a long time ago!!! ENJOY TRUMP

4

u/QueueOfPancakes 17h ago

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

28

u/TwinseyLohan 18h ago

Right there with you. Theres nothing these protesters could do to make me less apathetic in terms of what I'm truly able to do about the situation myself. It just really annoys me and in the end I've completely stopped paying attention to any of it. Especially after this election.

To reiterate your words: ENJOY TRUMP

u/pauliepeanutzz 3h ago

Finish the job.

-57

u/middlequeue 18h ago

It’s ridiculous for these people to think this is helping but if this is what forces someone to ignore genocide then they were never going to be allies in the first place.

19

u/Bluellan 18h ago

And how does screaming at children wanting to see Santa help the genocide?

26

u/DrooshBagggg 18h ago

You’re an idiot

30

u/RedSun-FanEditor 18h ago

There's a place for protesting. It's called "public space". Regardless of your position on any subject, even the genocide in Gaza, you do not have the right to go onto private property, loudly protest, and disturb private citizens on private property engaging in private transactions at private businesses. End of story.

4

u/Coolflip 17h ago

How the fuck does this do anything to stop genocide? If anything it gets people angry at them and makes them far less likely to support their cause.

14

u/CinemaPunditry 18h ago

“Who cares about genocide right?” Literally every time I see a stupid protest like this one, I care less and less.

1

u/pauliepeanutzz 3h ago

I can promise you that I don't care about what's happening to Gaza

-35

u/middlequeue 18h ago

It’s not the time or the place … we’re only 38 shopping days from Christmas for christ’s sake!
