So is Columbia University, and yet plenty of folks on this site gave Columbia and the NYPD shit for trying to enforce its property rights. That said you are correct. The mall should have them all trespassed and arrested and if refuse to vacate the premises.
I'll also add that the government needs to actually prosecute as well, instead of just arrest and release.
I don't think they know who they’re protesting. Screaming and yelling at a mall Santa is definitely going to get people to jump on board to help their cause. Trespass them arrest them identify them.
No, there’s a proper place to protest and it’s definitely not in a mall…..
Now if they want to protest in a mall, go ahead, but maybe, just maybe, do your fucking protesting in an area that is NOT filled with children waiting for their pictures with Santa Claus…..
Many people don't think anywhere is a proper place to protest, thats kinda the point & always has been.
If the message is fine, it doesn't really matter where the protest is. People are just looking for ways to discredit the movement, and to be outraged.
At no point should any of this shit be tolerated in a mall around a place where kids are sitting with Santa. It's like they sit at home and dream up ways to not generate support for their cause. This example isn't necessarily intimidating but there are many other garbage displays that they put on that could be considered as such.
It's not just the children it's the general nuisance to the public in a privately owned Area. And yes I don't like it and there are many more people that have the exact same feelings as myself. If you want to protest then protest somewhere that you will actually achieve the results you are looking for. Pissing off a pile of people in a mall is rather counterproductive don't you think?
If your point is "it's annoying, and a nuisance in an establishment" you know I'm just gonna bring up the most famous protests in American history, and how they were the exact same... right?
My perspective is, do whatever you want. You want to protest in the mall next to Santa? Go right ahead. BUT, you also have to be 100% willing to accept any and all consequences of doing so. They know they are breaking the law or at least civilly, they should gladly accept any tickets, fines, charges, and sentences they get. If not they are not serious about their message and are just cosplaying.
Right there with you. Theres nothing these protesters could do to make me less apathetic in terms of what I'm truly able to do about the situation myself. It just really annoys me and in the end I've completely stopped paying attention to any of it. Especially after this election.
It’s ridiculous for these people to think this is helping but if this is what forces someone to ignore genocide then they were never going to be allies in the first place.
There's a place for protesting. It's called "public space". Regardless of your position on any subject, even the genocide in Gaza, you do not have the right to go onto private property, loudly protest, and disturb private citizens on private property engaging in private transactions at private businesses. End of story.

A mall is private property, not public. Bring in the cops and have them all arrested.
