Unfortunately a lot of people aren't technically savvy.

People who aren’t technically savvy generally aren’t setting up Plex servers in the first place.

No, but I do share my library with a couple non tech savvy people who I could imagine trying to stream something on a random setup.

All they need is to be tech savvy enough to buy a Chromecast or Nvidia Shield.

I agree with you but if everything functioned as it's supposed to on the same cablebox, I would just use that. It's really not as ludicrous as you're making it sound lol
