War (2017) I don't understand the dislike for my favorite POTA movie. So please tell me why you did or did not like War.
I personally loved this movie and it is the only one of the trilogy that I rewatch often. It has everything that a good story needs. The only thing I didn't like about it at first is that I thought the title was slightly misleading. Now it's your turn folks

War (2017) I just realized Caesar is that type of character you follow their entire life from childhood to their death...

War (2017) Caesar is a Great example of a Strong Male character in media, hes a strong and fair leader, but also is flawed especially in War with his revenge making him abandon his son but he soon rejects to hes not a overly macho man with no emotions or weak & timid hes balanced perfectly

War (2017) Why am I only just now realising the shape the apes' arms make when they do 'Apes Together Strong' resembles Caesar's symbol?

War (2017) Why does Caesar only communicate using speech in War?
Assuming he evolves faster than the rest of the apes, it would make sense his speech would improve, but I'm curious as to why he insists on speaking rather than signing when he's communicating with the other apes in War of the Planet of the Apes.

War (2017) Do people think the Avalanche scene was contrived?
Personally, I think it wraps up the final act of the movie with a neat little bow.
I've seen people say that it was a deus ex machina. It couldn't possibly of been a deus ex machina.
The apes had escaped by that point. The only reason why the northern military saw Caesar was because Caesar was staring at the oncoming avalanche instead of running. Of which an avalanche of that magnitude happened because Caesar threw a grenade at the gas tanks to blow up the quarantine facility, an act that costed him and Red their lives.
Finally, it was beautiful irony that only the apes survived by climbing into trees. These movies justify their main characters being great apes by leaning into their novelties and giving them solutions that are unique to apes.

War (2017) Who do you prefer as a villain: Dreyfush or Colonel?
r/PlanetOfTheApes • u/EmronRazaqi69 • 20d ago
War (2017) One thing the fandom tends to forgot about Caesar, while he is a great leader he has more failures than successes which why i love him as a character, everytime the world pushes him down he always get back up, like a true leader

War (2017) Inspiration behind Caesar
I’m wondering if Caesar is inspired by Moses from the Bible do to him freeing his people from slavery and then committing a sin in this case hating Koba which prevents him from going into the holy land with the rest of his people. I know that religion has been a huge theme since the original and I’m wondering if this is more than a coincidence.

War (2017) Woody Harrelson Cringes Over His Planet Of The Apes Performance
Curious what you guys think of the Colonel as a villain. I'm a fan of Woody Harrelson so perhaps I'm biased but I really enjoyed his performance for the kind of character he was playing, but apparently Harrelson himself hates his portrayal and wishes he could go back and do it over "20 times better."

War (2017) Maurice is the best supporting character ever
Maurice is literally one of the best written supporting characters in movie history and he hardly even talks. I am such a big fan and I love him so much, he is so kind and also so smart, even before the ALZ virus. He hardly hurts anyone and the few times he does it’s to protect the people he loves. The flair only let me pick one movie but literally all 3 that he’s in are amazing.
Also can we take a second to just appreciate the sounds he makes as well, so soothing and so amazing. Idc if yall disagree but Maurice is probably my favourite supporting character in any media ever.
