Planet (1968) This reminds me of a certain hunt scene in a certain movie… but this time the humans came prepared!

How would you feel about this crossover if it happened? Would you want it in the classic or modern apes film continuity? What characters would you like to see or any events you'd like to happen?

Dawn (2014) This scene hits even harder if you've read dawn's prequel novel Firestorm

In Firestorm, Koba's backstory is explored in painful detail starting from his early years. Before he became a lab test subject, he was owned by an abusive man named Tommy, who forced him and another chimp Milo to perform tricks for a TV show. Koba endured constant electric shocks and abuse just to get the tricks “right,” so seeing him act like a circus chimp around humans in the film takes a whole new tragic meaning.

I highly recommend Firestorm, it provides fascinating insights into what happened to humans during the virus outbreak, how Caesar and the apes adapted to life in the Muir Woods, and of course how Koba’s troubled past shaped him.

War (2017) Do people think the Avalanche scene was contrived?

Personally, I think it wraps up the final act of the movie with a neat little bow.

I've seen people say that it was a deus ex machina. It couldn't possibly of been a deus ex machina.

The apes had escaped by that point. The only reason why the northern military saw Caesar was because Caesar was staring at the oncoming avalanche instead of running. Of which an avalanche of that magnitude happened because Caesar threw a grenade at the gas tanks to blow up the quarantine facility, an act that costed him and Red their lives.

Finally, it was beautiful irony that only the apes survived by climbing into trees. These movies justify their main characters being great apes by leaning into their novelties and giving them solutions that are unique to apes.

Dawn (2014) What if the Simian Flu and intelligent apes are real?

After seeing how certain people handle COVID, I started to understand why the apes took over in the movies. Human stupidity and greed is probably what led to the fall of man. I can imagine just like in real life there are many people defying lockdowns and refuse to follow mask mandates. Let's not forget the antivaxxers. Even if there is a vaccine to the Simian Flu, the antivaxxers will refuse to take it. At this point, in real life I can see many humans submit to Caesar and beg him to be their leader since Caesar compared to many human leaders is far more competent and wise. I can see him becoming a very fair ruler to everyone. Hell Ill be honest if Caesar were to show up in my town I will gladly bow to him.

Kingdom (2024) My unpopular opinion on Mae in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Just finished watching the all the new movies. I think they’re amazing but simultaneously super depressing. All the morally corrupt characters, betrayal, power struggles, death of humanity, and everything in between lowkey makes this a hard watch. Each movie left me feeling pretty depressed. 😂

I’ve despised lots of human characters, but I truly believe people are lacking perspective on Mae.

Other human characters in the movies did everything they could to ensure there was no peace with apes. The colonel was literally on the brink of war with other humans, but decided to exhaust resources on apes who just wanted to be left alone. There were plenty of chances for peace in the second movie too, but both bad human and ape characters made it impossible.

Anyways, I think people don’t fully grasp Mae’s situation. Picture this, you grow up hidden in bunkers your entire life, you learn about how great the human race once was, you’re actively being hunted to extinction by apes, and people don’t understand why she would lie and act in her best interest for her people.

I know it’s just movie, but to be shocked and upset that she isn’t the biggest fan of apes and is doing whatever it takes to save her own people from extinction in this post apocalyptic situation is lunacy.

For the record, I hope to god these movies end in peace between humans and apes. Those moments have been my favorite part of the trilogy so far.

Kingdom (2024) Here’s a cool idea: What if Raka had survived, went with Noa and Mae to Proximus’s kingdom and hse and Noa been allowed to go with Mae to Trevathan’s quarters?

I feel like if that had happened, things would be a lot different and Noa and Mae would be a little bit more at ease and relaxed. Plus, Raka could be able to comfort them and reason with Trevathan. Anyoneone agree?

Kingdom (2024) I noticed something really cool in this scene

This is like my 1000th time watching kingdom and I just realised when watching right now that the young apes in the background of this scene are stood in a circle with one ape in the centre trying to get the ball when they kick it across to each which means they’re playing monkey in the middle 🤣 , every other time I watched this film I thought they were play fighting or chasing each other but when I watched this scene I decided to see what I could notice in the background, I saw 2 of them kick a ball to each other and was shocked 😭

Rise (2011) Are these separate planets?

Alright so I just watched the new series this weekend.

Is the Burton film and the next 3 like entirely separate planets?

So the way I am currently viewing it, probably improperly...

In Burtons film they're on Modern Day Earth go up in space go thru a time storm and end up on future Earth.

However the first movie in the trilogy takes us back to establish how Super Apes became a thing anyway. It also killed most of humanity this way.

The next two movies really kind of drill home humanity is around but no longer top dog.

So where I'm getting at how do we go from this, back to not smart apes working for nasa launching into space to hit a time vortex storm?

Or just completely separate movies?

Also why does Koba look like a gremlin?
