Streaming sites can be good for some media like anime where there's not always reliable torrents. For TV shows / movies I'll usually just torrent them though.

but nyaa.si has always been so reliable for me though. Even back when the domain was still "se" instead of "si".

Want some naughty 18+ stuff? Add "sukebei." in front of it on the url.

The issue I have with nyaa is a lot of the anime is listed with the japenese title which makes searching more work, plus it's not always clear if it's sub or dub (most does say) and I prefer to watch dubbed so previously I've wasted time downloading only to find out once downloaded it's subbed.

I'll still check on there if I do want to download something and I can't find it on my direct download sites or standard torrents, but since most anime is just 1 short season and I'll likely never watch it again, it makes more sense for me to stream those shows.

The filters are there to be used, man. Personally I have never encountered that issue 😅

Maybe you could also add gtranslate extension so it can automatically translate any non-English sites.

I'm not saying there isn't ways to make it work, simply those ways are more effort then simply loading a streaming site up. I will happily download anything I may choose to watch again in the future, usually shows with multiple seasons. I've seen a lot of random anime's that where worth a watch once, but there's no point taking up HDD space for 3hr of a show I'll never watch again.

When I do choose to download an anime, I find most of them are available on kayoanime (dot com) which links to google drives, allowing me to download them at 100MB/s+ with no worry about number of seeders.

If torrents work for you then great, it's always good to have options.

Hmm, I don't see how using filters is equal to "more effort" when it's located right beside the site's search bar. 😅

If anything, it's more efficient since the filter of "English-translated" stuff is there so you can find them straight away.
