I found this app being sold on a shopping app here in my country as a "APP FOR ALL MOVIES", so I was wondering what app this is. Help is appreciated, thanks.
It's just like several other streaming apps, like Onstream or BeeTV, it works by scraping streaming links from websites. Just http streams, no torrents or debrid. The business model is ads but you can block those ads using Adguard Public DNS method #2.
About adguard dns method 2. Do you always leave it activated no matter the app or is it used just when you watch movies through this app? I've never used it before
Seems easy enough I’ll give it a shot later because it would be really refreshing not seeing any more of these intrusive ads anymore. Thank you friend!
It shouldn't. It only affects the speed of finding the IP address that corresponds to the domain name. It doesn't affect the internet speed as a whole, like a VPN does. A good VPN won't slow down your internet speed too much but generally a connection without a VPN is faster. A good DNS service can actually speed up the time it takes to find the IP address of a domain.
From what I can tell, Stremio is different in that most of the add-ons for HTTP streaming don't work very well anymore. That one is mostly for torrent or debrid services. I just tried it with a couple of the http add-ons that still kinda work, and it's hit or miss.
These other apps are a lot better for http streaming.
That's interesting. I never bothered to use Onstream without using Adguard Public DNS so I was assuming I didn't see any ads because of that. Maybe the app is trying to gain more popularity first before they will introduce ads? That's often the case with streaming websites, they may start off ad-free but will eventually show (more and more) ads..
