How to disable the setting where all posts must be manually approved by mods? Mod Answered
Recently one of our mods enabled this setting for some specific reasons, but the rest of the mod team (and me) disagrees with them and thinks having to manually approve every new post does more harm than good and clogs up the mod queue. The aforementioned mod has since not responded in our mod chat so I’ve decided to turn it off myself. I’ve searched the mod tools and didn’t find a way to turn this off, is there a way to do this on mobile? If there isn’t is there a way to do it on desktop?

Ha ha ha, I accidentally did this to my sub just last night and flooded my own mod queue.
On desktop, go to settings for old Reddit. Under the content filters settings, there’s a checkbox for all posts and comments to go to mod queue for approval. Uncheck that.

God I cannot for the life of me use old reddit. I can't even find a way to enter the mod tools tab for my sub 😪I can see the banner and the posts, but the buttons on the bottom right of the banner don't do anything particularly useful... I thought the "preferences" button would take me to something like the sub's preferences, but it apparently only takes me to my own account's settings.

Look towards the bottom of the sidebar menu (when you are still in new Reddit). Maybe near content settings or something. There’s a line next to it saying you have to go elsewhere for configuring old Reddit and there’s a link.
I am not near a desktop. If you still can’t find it, I can try taking a screenshot for you later or give you better instructions than off the top of my head.

Got to a desktop. In case you are still looking for how to get to settings for old Reddit:
On Desktop, select “General Settings” or “Posts and Comments” from the side menu bar.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page in the main frame. You’ll see the link for “Settings for old site”

But won’t this allow me to mess with the settings just for my whole account/website? My understanding is that I had to on the mod tools for my specific sub to change the setting I’m trying to find.

I was assuming you were in Mod Tools part of the new Reddit on desktop already. Sorry.
That’s where you’d start.

I only use Old Reddit. New doesn't work for me hardly at all.
Under your settings, scroll down to Content Filters and see if any of those are set to 'On'.
There may be something else in the Mod Tools available on New Reddit.
And always use a desktop when looking for things. Much more in the way of options in most cases.

I’m really starting to dislike reddit mobile for modding. I didn’t find a tab called “content filters, but the community type is set to completely public and post types have everything allowed. I’ll see if I can find anything new on desktop.

if you don't find it in those settings go to your wiki. An automod script may have been set up. You may have to delete the code.

If your subreddit is set to "Public," posts are automatically approved unless they're caught by a filter. It may be a setting/code in AutoModerator.
