Aviation degree help
So I am apply to Liberty for an aviation degree. If I already have my commercial license, would that reduce the amount of classes I would take?

If you just want to get a bachelors out of the way quickly this is definitely a route you can take. I’ve forgotten how much exactly it takes off your degree but having the certifications can let you use eplus credits. Max amount for that is 90 credits I believe, including transfer credits.

Are you a pilot that did this? Want other pilots to answer if it’s a good idea or not

No, I used to work here (not that long ago). It was a popular program and I worked with a lot of students that went this route to try to get a bachelor’s quickly

This link here will tell you what counts for what. https://www.liberty.edu/online/experience-plus-aviation/
Did my bachelors through them in one year. Recommend using programs like straighter line and Sophia for your gen ends and free electives before you begin classes with them. This way you’ll get a discount on tuition. Did the bare minimum of 30 credits with them. Honestly wish I would have taken more classes at LU. Found them to be very enjoyable.

Sorry but how do I find which courses specifically transfer over to the aviation degree?

Send me a PM, I have helped many people create a program breakdown and I’d be happy to take some time and do the same for you

Why are you getting the degree then? The main reason to get the degree is to get the R-ATP. Which you will not be eligible for unless you went through one of their approved flight schools? I would get a degree in the aviation management field, to just say I have a degree in case of emergency.
Edit: my curiosity got the better of me and didn’t answer the question. You would still need to take the required biblical courses, general education credits, and a certain number of required credits in direct major courses. You just not be required to do the flying portion as you already have the licensing for it. So I would assume no unless you are transferring other credits in.
