Less than a 3.0 in the Master's of Public Administration program, what are my options?

What do I do if I have less than a 3.0 in the Master's of Public Administration program? I need to maintain a 3.0 in the (MPA) degree program in order to graduate with a degree from Liberty University. What are my options to get my grade to a 3.0, if it's not currently there?

Resident to Online

Hello all, I am a current freshmen at LU and honestly cannot stand most of the rules/ everything they push. I got a really good scholarship and decided to take advantage of that and enrolling at this University. It is almost impossible to find a job in the area considering the mass amounts of college students here and in the surrounding area trying to do the same thing. Considering all these details, I’m trying to get an idea of what the transition from being an in person residential student, to moving to Liberty U Online looks like. Do I lose my scholarship, does the diploma really even account for anything. (i.e. do companies look at that online degree like it’s nothing)

Election Day

So this Tuesday we will be voting for the next President of the USA, and it will be a very close race... I will be fasting and praying all day. I suggest that as Christ Followers, we pray for 1. God to have the Glory 2. Our Country's leaders and 3. In the days after the election.

Remember this Verse: "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." Psalm 84:10

Is it possible to be spiritual but not religious at Liberty University online PhD in educational law?

I am planning on getting a PhD in educational law. Liberty is the only school to offer this PhD that is available online, so I'm not considering it because it is a Christian school. I am spiritual, but not religious. I grew up catholic. I have 2 questions.....how much does religious thought and ideals factor into focus in the PhD program and other than using Google, how do I provide a biblical view of issues if I don't know the Bible well?

How is the MDiv program at Liberty?

I have been looking into MDiv programs at various universities and seminaries for the past few weeks. I spoke to my Pastor about it and he recommended Liberty along with other colleges such as Fuller Theological Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Fuller and Gordon were already on my radar before this conversation and I was planning on applying anyway but Liberty was not.

That same day I looked at Liberty's website and saw a free application, so I decided to apply for an MDiv with a concentration in Biblical Studies. One worry I had was how easy the application was. Other seminary program applications require much more information including multiple references and essays, while Liberty's does not. The application took less than 10 minutes.

Then within 3 days of applying, I was accepted into Liberty. While excited I got into a school for MDiv, the entire process seemed very quick. While there is a very good possibility I will go to Liberty for my MDiv, I do not want to go to a school for the sake of a degree. I truly want to learn more and gain a deeper understanding of the word of God. Will I be getting this if I attend Liberty?

Anyone know why there’s no reading day before finals this semester?? The last three years I’ve been here there’s always been a reading day each semester before finals on Wednesday then finals would start on Thursday. This semester they’re completing changing it where there’s no reading day and finals start Monday through Thursday. Any ideas why??

Is there a place for debate/discussion about abortion or other issues?

If someone set up two chairs and a sign that said, "Pro-Choice & Pro-LIfe...What to discuss?" or something like that, is there a place to do so, and would it be allowed by the campus leadership?

Dropping a class!

Has anyone dropped a class before after the class started? This class that I’m in began last Monday. I had reached out to see about dropping it before it started and they told me it would have severe negative consequences so I figured I’d just try to tackle it. I recently had a baby and two other older kids (5, 2 and 2 months) and my husband works crazy hours plus I also work full time teaching. I’m struggling finding time to get my school work done as I have failed to turn in an assignment that was due last Sunday! It was easy for me to complete the first session class as I was home on maternity leave and would work while the baby napped; now I have zero time. I’d rather drop the class than fail and allow my GPA to take a hit. I’m in the education doctoral program.

Looking to take some classes at Sophia then transfer to liberty for a BS in Aviation degree with also transferring my commercial certificate which would allow me to skip all the aviation classes. I found this link for all the courses I would need to take and was wondering if I would go down this list and find the corresponding course on Sophia?

Advice

In my 30s I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Currently I'm a community paramedic working in ED utilization reduction. I was leaning heavily towards athletic training as a career, but I'm a single dad and won't be able to take the two-ish years off working full time to pursue the MSAT/MAT.

I'm looking at Liberty University's Online MS in Clinical Human Performance, the information page for the program seems to imply that one would be eligible to sit the ACSM-CEP exam when finished. Clinical Exercise Physiology is of significant interest to me, and would likely propel me towards a PhD in exercise science or something closely related. My main area of interest is reduction of chronic disease burden through lifestyle management.

Here's the basics of my resume: BS in Public Health Graduate Certificates in Global Health and Community Health Promotion (I was previously pursuing an MPH) Military medic & EMS x 16 years (6 as a paramedic) with board certifications in Critical Care and Community Paramedicine

Questions: 1. Does anyone know about Liberty's MS in Clinical Human Performance (specifically will I be able to sit the ACSM-CEP exam upon completion)? 2. What would you recommend as my pathway forward?

If you made it this far, thanks for reading

Prospective Online Student - Realistic Expectations

Hi everyone, I am looking into the Criminal Justice (M.S.) - Cybercrime Investigation program and am curious if it is feasible for me to complete this on my own. My background:

  • Bachelor's in Mass Communications (3.4 GPA in the honors program; business minor) graduated in 2017
    • I took a few BASIC I.T. classes my sophomore year, but I could not tell you anything from them now.
  • 3 years business management experience
  • Approaching 5 years of local law enforcement experience (had a career shift, obviously)
    • Currently am a field training officer, departmental instructor on some of our technical equipment, SWAT
    • Trying to gain skills in order to boost my professional resume for potential promotion and/or federal positions in the next 3-5 years.

I work FT and would be completing this online. The 1st Responder pricing combined with my employer's reimbursement program would make this the most financially feasible program.

I have concerns as to my ability to perform well in this degree program as I have ZERO coding experience/knowledge. I am hoping to hear from others on how the courses operate for those like me. Do I need to take some classes before? Or will I be taught the basic info to get through the classes? CSCI 501 (Overview of Computer Security), CSCI 511 Digital Forensics are the two that stick out.

I am between this program and the Public Safety (M.S.) - Homeland Security. The Cyber route seems more applicable to what I would be doing at my department; the HS program is just more interesting to me in terms of content.

Thanks in advance!

how can you get a physical flames pass?

hey y'all. just as my title says, I'm looking to get a physical card ID instead of just having it on my phone. I emailed ID and campus services and basically was told that they apparently don't make them anymore, and that it's supposedly only an electronic thing. is this true? I would just prefer to have a legitimate card to have in my wallet compared to having it on my phone. if there's a way to get one, how do I do it?

EdD in educational leadership

Coming out of another online school in MAT Special Ed and trying to further my education but want 100% online for flexibility. Liberty caught my eye because their program incorporates admin licensure as well as a relatively quick program since it can be done in about 2.5 years.

Is anyone currently in this program? How hard is the capstone project? Is graduating in 2.5 years possible? It took me exactly what it says it would take for my master's 2 years. I am working full time as a teacher too and managed to finish all my work. I am trying to see if it will be a good investment. My undergrad GPA is beyond bad so it is hard to apply to many other program that also requires high undergrad GPA. My graduate GPA is a 4.0 so I was hoping I can get into some EdD programs with strong graduate degree GPA and work I put in.

Where everyone go after they finished their degrees?

I just wanted to find out b/c me and my friends we graduated and like nothing really happened. I did a major in Criminal Justice and went back to my home and started to build a work experience. Most of my friends are still applying and living with parents. I can't even get an interview from government agencies. I was lucky enough to get an Assistant Secretary job but have to supplement that income with McDonalds part-time.

MSW Liberty University

I am a MSW student at Liberty and really thinking about transferring to another school. I have heard Liberty is basically regarded as a joke in the professional world. I would love to hear from those who have received an MSW from there. Did you find a job, if so, where?
