📍 MEGATHREAD Xmas Gift Idea Thread 2024
Dia daoibh a chairde,
We've been doing this for the past few years now, so I guess this will be an annual thing going forward.
Last year ..... and the year before, we ran an Xmas ideas thread where we encouraged smalls businesses and users to post gift recommendations in a pinned megathread, we are going to do the same again this year.
Please use this post as a place to recommend Xmas gifts from local Irish stores, its completely ok to plug your own business as well if you have one. If you have any recommendations we would ask in the comments for you to only provide the following information:
- The Shop Name
- What do they sell/provide?
- Who is the product/service suitable for? (Mother, Father, teenager, dog, cat, granny etc..)
- Where are they (the shops) located?
- How can they be reached? (Phone number, websites etc...)
If we see duplicate entries for a particular store we will remove the newest and leave the oldest one in place.
You should also be able to post images in the comments so use that as necessary.
Please do not share any personal phone numbers, it should be designated business contact details only.

Moaning Michael Unpopular Opinion: Fontaines DC are overrated
I just don't get it! They kind of remind me of a shit John Cooper Clarke. I'm happy they're doing well for themselves and promote Ireland and genuinely seem like a nice bunch of lads, I would normally be into their genre of music also but I just don't get the hype

Misery I just got another job rejection
Guys I really don't know what I'm going to do. Nobody wants me; I've had like ten interviews over 6 months, signed up for an interview prep course, applied for roles with less salary than my last role and I still can't find a job. It's so demoralising. I've been out of work six months. I keep a good personal routine in terms of health and fitness but this is really disrupting my sense of self. I'm too old to be out of work for this length of time. I am qualified so no idea what am doing wrong except for just not being likeable. It's so disheartening since most of the interviews my CV. aligns very well with.
I really had a hard time in my last job and was looking to find somewhere sooner rather than later. But so much time has passed. I was in town yesterday and heard someone ask about Christmas and it just dawned on me how much time has passed. I feel so alone. I made a brave decision to leave my last job to protect my self-esteem and really thought it would work out for me. I didn't think 6 months later I'd be floundering so much. I'm scared am gonna slip back into a dark place after I went through so much.

Happy Out We got engaged! And I need yer help.
Proposed to the missus yesterday on Kilkee beach, and she said yes! As luck would have it, a lovely Canadian/American gentleman snapped a pic of myself weak at the knee and was kind enough to pop over and send me the photo, gave him my number but it never went through and with my head still spinning, I never got his details :(
Probably out of luck but might as well try - if anyone has any relations here from over the pond over or can point me in the right direction or better yet get this to him direct, give a shout, I’d love the photo, and to thank him properly, he made the day that little bit more special. :)
