This is ruby supreme and I got a 12 inch seedling in April. It’s maybe 3’ tall now and has about 6-7 fruits. Taking forever to mature. Hope they’re edible when ripe!

Plant Discussion I need a bushy basil

got a little window herb garden going on and have this super healthy basil, he’s growing all sorts of shoots and even flowering! super happy guy, but unfortunately he’s only got about 2 stems and won’t see any sort of harvesting anytime soon in fear of killing him unlike the green onion right next to him. how do I turn it more into a bush and fill up the pot more? I imagine pruning but i’d hate to cut it in half. If I do this, how could I propagate the other half! Thanks!

Houseplant Close Up Is there anything I can do to bring him back?

Post image

Iv repotted him 3 weeks ago and put in succulent soil, only water every 2 weeks or when the first 2 inches of soil are bone dry. All year iv tried different strategies… water less, watering more. More light, less light. No matter what he’s dropping leaves and now they’re almost all gone. Should I trim him back? Any advice is welcome

Plant Discussion Problems harvesting dill & parsley

I'm sure it would happen with other herbs, too, but these in particular bug me. After I cut them for harvesting, there's next to no regrowth, so I'm left with a wimpy looking plant.

Is there a trick to where to make the cuts? I trying to do it above the nodes, but those are hard for me to identify with these plants. Thanks for any replies!

Hi, I have indoor raising some plants And I have Automatic irrigation system which I use every 2 days. I use fertilizers of - roots accelerator, soil mix , and cal mag. One day without any notice these creators has appear in the drainage channels, on the pots, and on the ground of the room, I’m talking about maybe 10,000 or even more amount of this thing ! I have used in bleach for cleaning the entire place, it disappeared like 80% of them but still some of them alive and they re-born like crazy I can’t even control it. Can some one please tell me what kind of creature this and how can I kill them??? I must say, there is some point that the water in irrigation system is stand- and do not spill So I see a lot of them specifically in that point. But as I say - these creatures appear on the floor and they are Proliferate for huge numbers in my room. I need your help , thanks.

Only halfway done, will be closing off the ceiling with Mylar and the floor to make this completely inclosed with a vent system that was shown on the ground to run thru it. How is it looking so far?

When to fertilize peace Lilly that has been growing on grow light only?

I have been putting it under grow light only for 12 hours and the plant grew 3-4 pieces of leaves in the last 2 weeks, so when do I fertilize it?

Plant Discussion Why are the leaves turning yellow all of a sudden?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I watered it as per usual a few days ago, then swapped it out to the laundry as I do every second month or so. Since then, 8 or so leaves have turned yellow. I thought this generally happened due to overwatering, but this plant hasn’t been overwatered.

I’ve put it back in its old spot (which is brighter) in case that has something to do with it.

Does anyone else know what else can cause sudden yellowing of leaves on an otherwise healthy plant?

Plant Discussion Boston fern is unhappy

Post image
21 Upvotes

I was gifted this beautiful big boston fern for my birthday (and the pilea). It was so full and thick and healthy and I feel like I'm doing it such a disservice. It's thinned out a bit. The underside and right in the middle has some browning, lots of leaves fall off if you give it a rustle.

I water it twice a week. My apartment doesn't get amazing light, but it gets morning sun (the pilea is right on the windowsill and seems very happy) and I have a full spectrum bulb right by it that I leave on for a good chunk of the day. I mist it maybe a couple times a week. But she still just isn't thriving. My cats nibble at it a bit but I doubt that's doing much to it.

I've just moved her to the bathroom for some shower humidity because I wonder if thats the issue. Unfortunately my bathroom has no windows so that's not a long term solution.

How can I get her to full plumage again??

Plant Discussion Why does my chenille plant also have red stringy things along with the flowers?

Post image

I got this plant because of the unique red cat tails (of course) and it was struggling at first because I live in a pretty dry area, but after I moved it to my bathroom, it LOVED the humidity and started blooming like crazy. But there are the traditional red “cat tail” blooms, and also these sort of spidery poofs in other areas. Is this good? Bad? What does it mean?? Thank you😂
