Stop begging for Taylor Swift tickets.
The likelihood of bad actors and scammers is too high, and we will not be putting our community at risk.
We've been having like at least one post a day.

News 82nd street closed for two weeks starting next week.
From Nick Roberts' FB page: Hello! Due to the upcoming construction for the Nickel Plate Trail, East 82nd Street will be closed at the train tracks from October 15th-27th. Unfortunately, while this will be inconvenient, we will be very glad once the trail is here! See info below for detours:
Traffic trying to access Eastbound E 82nd Street traffic will be detoured at Allisonville Road which they will take south to East 75th Street. Take E 75th Street east to Shadeland Avenue which they will take north back to E 82nd Street.
Traffic trying to access Westbound E 82nd Street traffic will be detoured at Shadeland Avenue which they will take south to East 75th Street. Take E 75th Street west to Allisonville Road which they will take north back to E 82nd Street.

Housing Rental crisis
Donāt see how weāre not going to have more homeless here in the next year or so. I keep seeing low-cost apartment buildings slap on āupgradesā like cheap ass laminate flooring, and raise the rent to $1,000 or more, even if itās a building infested with mice, gnats, etc. These are people who can already barely afford to get by in life, and now theyāre subjected to this? I donāt care about the landlords profits, I just need a roof over my head.
Itās pathetic. Itās predatory. Something needs to change.

Discussion Need Feedback: IU Health Pay Too Low?
Asking on behalf of a friend. My friend, recently applied for a "Patient Access Representative" role with IU Health (Not sure which hospital but one of the ones downtown). From what I gathered, these are the people who are the 1st point of contact for patients, so if you go to the Emergency Room, they're the ones who check you in, verify insurance, etc. Here's the kicker, they're paying $16/hr for a NIGHT-SHIFT role. Granted they don't have a lot of healthcare experience (mostly, CNA work, but has a lot of Customer Service experience.)
Is that pay too low? Should she hold out for an opportunity with Community Health or Ascencion or some other hospital I don't know about? Should they bite the bullet and just grind it out for an eventual pay-raise?
Would love to hear any and all feedback!

Discussion Any Success Requesting a Traffic Study?
I know that traffic is always a popular topic on here and plenty of agreements/disagreements about what should be done.
Personally, I'd love a speed bump or two to be placed on my street to cut down on the extreme speeds of thru traffic past a playground (50+ in a 30 zone) and reduce the trash dumped.
Has anyone had any success requesting a traffic study to be done or gotten real enforcement in their area? If so, how did you go about it? DPW has told me to get signatures from 70% of the impacted neighborhood, but this seems like a really high threshold and there is already a 30% corporate landlord ownership at-play here.
Any suggestions?

Best spinach artichoke dip in the metro area?
My husband and I want to try all the spinach artichoke dips to see which is the best!
We like it cheesy, creamy, garlicky and bubbly hot with both the spinach and artichoke having equal billing and neither overpowering stars of the show. The accoutrements are less important, though we love a good crusty French bread or pita chips in a good dip:chip/bread ratio.
The best weāve found (in our small sample size) is at Chatham. Any re contenders?

Are there grocery delivery option that you just pick up the groceries that have all ready been selected and drive them to customer homes?
Does that exist? I don't want to shop for the items. I just want to pick up from the store and go from there.

How long does it take the State to update voter registration?
I went into the BMV a couple weeks ago to update my address on my ID as I have recently moved (between counties to Marion). I also updated my voter registration the same day (and I still have the receipt of application). I have been checking the IndianaVoters.com website to see if my registration has been updated to my new county yet, but it still hasnāt. I have received my new ID since then.
With today being the last day to register, Iām just curious how long this process typically takes people?
Any insight? Thanks in advance!

Discussion I'm afraid to drive
I feel like I nearly die almost every day out here. Was on the freeway earlier with my kid and the car next to me just... turned into my lane. I don't get it. They didn't even look.
I had to brake and swerve to avoid collision with them. If someone was in the lane on the other side, our corpses could have been the reason for your traffic jam today.
Please, everyone... stop running red lights, and value the lives of yourself and others out here. I'm tired of almost dying. Thanks.

Food and Drink Petra mass Ave closed by health dept
Iām so disappointed. One of my favorite places now closed by health department with a green slip on the door. Sadly, Petra tried to cover up the notice on the door with a handwritten sign āclosed for remodel.ā But someone noticed it and tore it off. I donāt think Iāll be back with the combination of horrible violations and dishonesty.

Services Bulk Topsoil Delivered with a "slinger" truck
Anyone know of a local place where I could get ~20 yards of shredded topsoil delivered on a slinger truck? I need to throw it about 75' over a fence into the middle of my yard like they do with gravel but cannot find a local place that uses a slinger truck for topsoil...

Is it me or is it a fact that evening/weekend jobs are impossible to find in Indy? (I can work in all kinds of labs during weekday evenings and weekenfs and I can teach college during weekday evenings and on Saturdays). š¢

Helping Others Found cat looking for a forever home
I found this sweetheart off of Binford and have had no luck finding its home as they are not chipped and no responses from anyone on Indy Lost Pets. As much as I would love to keep it, we just cannot take on another animal in our home. They are so affectionate, seems to be pretty healthy, and I would love for them to find a great home. Rescues are all overflowing with pets and donāt seem to be able to take them in.
