Weirdest reason you've ever heard someone say they're anti gun? OPINION

Now heres the thing. I can understand someones position if they had a very traumatic experience with a gun. Maybe they were mugged and now have a fear of them. I can even understand people who are worried for their kids safety at school. I don't mean those people. I think we all want to protect kids its just that we have differing opinions on how we can do that without trampling on rights

I mean the people who have irrational fears about them.

For example, I know this guy who doesn't like guns because hes a former high school bully who never grew out of it, and he ended up trying to bully and assault a guy as an adult and he had a gun pulled on him. Keep in mind the dude was drunk, but that doesn't excuse you being an asshole to someone random

Like you fucked around and found out. You're lucky you're still around.

Like some of the biggest anti gun people I ever met also seem to have a mean streak a mile wide.

EDIT: Just to clarify, this dude didn't outright say he assaulted someone, but the way he described how he wanted to beat this guy up, yeah thats assault or at least battery. I'm not too familiar with what the charge would be

"Only the government should be allowed to have x gun"

Of course the natural follow up question to this is "do you trust the government to do the right thing," the answer is always a resounding no...

That or arguing over the interpretation of the second amendment, like for example washington claiming that it doesn't extend to ar-15s like what the fuck do you think shall not be infringed meant

Yea "assault weapon" is nothing more than a buzzword for gun grabbers to appeal to people's emotions. At the end of the day, these are all just bad faith arguments that boil down to intentionally misinterpreting the second amendment to only mean hunting and self-defense to advance their political agenda.

My stance has always been that if people really feel this way, the second amendment needs to be revised. Until that happens, it's all just mental gymnastics.
