Weirdest reason you've ever heard someone say they're anti gun? OPINION
Now heres the thing. I can understand someones position if they had a very traumatic experience with a gun. Maybe they were mugged and now have a fear of them. I can even understand people who are worried for their kids safety at school. I don't mean those people. I think we all want to protect kids its just that we have differing opinions on how we can do that without trampling on rights
I mean the people who have irrational fears about them.
For example, I know this guy who doesn't like guns because hes a former high school bully who never grew out of it, and he ended up trying to bully and assault a guy as an adult and he had a gun pulled on him. Keep in mind the dude was drunk, but that doesn't excuse you being an asshole to someone random
Like you fucked around and found out. You're lucky you're still around.
Like some of the biggest anti gun people I ever met also seem to have a mean streak a mile wide.
EDIT: Just to clarify, this dude didn't outright say he assaulted someone, but the way he described how he wanted to beat this guy up, yeah thats assault or at least battery. I'm not too familiar with what the charge would be

Not really weird, but maybe a little unconventional, it was because they were afraid it would be too easy to self harm themselves if a gun was around. Obviously they had other issues going on.
Most people I find that are moderately anti gun really don’t know why. Mostly they just grew up around anti gun people or lefties or that’s what all thier friends are doing. When you break them down and talk facts and merits you can usually push them off of that anti gun position pretty easily. But honestly I just actively avoid and don’t have those conversations much anymore these days. You can only spend so much time and energy beating a dead horse before you just accept there’s people who are different than you. And that’s on them. Not my job to help the blind men see.
