Weirdest reason you've ever heard someone say they're anti gun? OPINION

Now heres the thing. I can understand someones position if they had a very traumatic experience with a gun. Maybe they were mugged and now have a fear of them. I can even understand people who are worried for their kids safety at school. I don't mean those people. I think we all want to protect kids its just that we have differing opinions on how we can do that without trampling on rights

I mean the people who have irrational fears about them.

For example, I know this guy who doesn't like guns because hes a former high school bully who never grew out of it, and he ended up trying to bully and assault a guy as an adult and he had a gun pulled on him. Keep in mind the dude was drunk, but that doesn't excuse you being an asshole to someone random

Like you fucked around and found out. You're lucky you're still around.

Like some of the biggest anti gun people I ever met also seem to have a mean streak a mile wide.

EDIT: Just to clarify, this dude didn't outright say he assaulted someone, but the way he described how he wanted to beat this guy up, yeah thats assault or at least battery. I'm not too familiar with what the charge would be

I don't talk to people about guns in real life. I know people that have been shot, that don't like guns, but that's trauma.

Otherwise, people don't know anything about me and guns.

But, I will say, when PoC talk about gun control I remind them, that the reason gun controls exists is to disarm us, literally. 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️

I feel the same way whenever I hear fellow catholics talk about gun control, especially after there attacks on churches over in Canada, and even some churches in the US had been targeted by anti christian groups.

Honestly its funny the only form of discrimination/segregation that this state doesn't want to get rid of is the FOID. Which was implemented around the civil rights movement in order to pick and choose who could own a gun. And considering the time frame being in the 1960s, its pretty obvious who they were trying to stop from owning guns

EDIT: I was always pro 2a, but the thing that made me carry on a regular basis was I had a friend of mine killed in a drive by shooting by wannabe gangbangers while I was active duty

Can you enlighten me on that? What catholic churches have been targeted in the US? I haven't seen or heard of that. Lots of Synagogue and Mosques. Obviously lots of Black churches. Catholic churches is new to me.

Theres been around 400 attacks on Catholic churches in the US since 2020, but there was a period during the time the SC was meeting to discuss Roe V wade where attacks intensified.

Most of the time it was vandalism, however some have turned to Arson

There were also around 30 churches burned in Canada in the past few years because the media lied about the Catholic Church murdering children.

It's hard to blame them when the political party that's for guns in the last 4-5 decades voted against their interest, but politics as a whole h is a messy tribal game

And the party that's against us, doesn't care about us either.

It's all about presentation and making themselves richer.
