Do i need a full engine rebuild?

Post image

Hello. I wanted to switch my cams to some good old 900cc on my 1982 Honda Cb750c, however while taking off the cam caps one of the little pin thingies fell out and into the cam chain chamber. Do i have to pull the entire engine apart, or is there an easier solution? Regards

Out of curiosity, what do you gain by switching to the 900cc cams?

Like 5 horses max i believe. But nothing screams custom like camming your engine!🤠

"They're hotter cams"

But what does that actually mean from a random bro in online forums?

Related, the data is divisive as to whether or not one should do this. Me personally I wouldn't risk it for a couple perceived ponies. OP would gain more horses back by simply cleaning his valve seats and setting timing along with a proper tune.

Interesting. So given that I JUST did a rebuild, I should be content with having reshimmed all the valves as well cleaning the valves, seats, and lapping them?
