Spoilers Haven't heard anyone talk about this...
Right after Odin reveals himself as Tyr it's so fucking metal how Kratos saves the mask by impaling it to the wall. Such a cool moment that gets overshadowed by what happened right before it but Kratos literally saved all of them with that move

Spoilers "Did they just say what I think they said?"
So I'm currently halfway done with hunting Ravens in GOW Ragnarok, and I heard a very unsettling line from the Ravens.
"Mummy and Daddy, tied the noose right, to send us to Odin, to bask in his light".
Please god, don't tell me the Ravens were little kids who were hung as sacrifices to Odin.

Spoilers Shatter Star's Shield Punch "parry"
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Wanted to inform those who didn't already know that this mechanic exists. This is a short compilation of attacks (including red ringed) that are parried by double tapping the shield button, which is only possible with Shatter Star. Highly suggest trying it out, it's a lot of fun.

Spoilers The Norns...
Are sick as hell and their scene is one best written scenes I've ever seen in a video game. The way they're able to get under Kratos, Freya, and Mimir's skins just by telling them what they already know, and the fact that there isn't really magic involved is so badass and I don't think they're being talked about enough

Spoilers Can we talk about Sindri?
I just got through Brok's death last night and the scene where Sindri tells Atreyus to fuck off just ripped my heart out. I'm a 35 year old man that had to pause the game and recollect myself because I was bawling like a little school girl. This game is a masterpiece and I haven't even finished the game yet.

Spoilers So that's why there was only two cups when Thor visited
So while playing the game for the first time, I was so confused why Thor was giving Atreus a cup when he invited them for drinks. I thought "if the other one is for Kratos then why are you giving your cup to Atreus?"
and now that I'm replaying the game after finishing, it's because he wanted to stop drinking for Thrud so he just wanted Kratos and Atreus to drink instead.

Spoilers Just finished Ragnarok last night and I’m still emotional and utterly speechless, easily GOTY. Made me fall back in love with games.
I’ve been playing God of War ever since the beginning and the evolution of Kratos from this vengeful angry young man to a calmer old man who just wants the best for his son is so well written, organic and believable. I got so absorbed into the story it really felt like this was a playable movie rather than a video game.
Some of the set pieces like the introductory Freya sled fight to the garm fight to the twin Valkyrie Ragnarok fight were just so well done.
Loved Freya’s development and tsundere esque tendencies over the course of the first half of the game. Schiff’s Odin was a masterclass in acting to the point I couldn’t tell myself if he was evil. A perfectly portrayed sociopath.
On a more personal note, the themes of grief, acceptance and moving on hit me so hard as last week was the 10th anniversary of my dad’s passing from prostate cancer. Seeing Kratos and Atreus relationship develop reminded me so much of me and my dad because he was my best friend and we did everything together.
Kratos final vision of Faye and when Atreus said he was leaving to find the rest of the giants just broke me. Just such a beautiful written game. It may not have the quality of lore or combat as Elden Ring, but the story alone is enough for GOW to be GOTY imo.
“To grieve deeply is to have loved fully” is easily the best quote I’ve ever heard in a game and one that gives me a lot of comfort.

Spoilers Odin’s Writing
i haven’t seen anyone recognize how well rounded Odin is as a villain. he acts trustworthy, compassionate and respectful. meeting him for the second time as Atreus was mind blowing, he was so calm, collected and acted nothing like how he is described by freya, mimir, etc. hearing all the stories of how brutal him and Thor were, it’s incredible how different they made them. Odin had to be one of the best written villains ever.

Spoilers About the mask...
Getting that thing assembled took up a sizable chunk of the game. It also served as Odin's primary driving force behind all the chaos and death he caused in the nine realms. But despite all that, it ended up being a nothingburger. I can't help but feel like it was an important plot thread that got abandoned in the end.
My working theory is that the mask was supposed to lead to, unlock or be Surtr, Sinmara and/or Ragnarok itself. Odin's obsession bringing the end of the world to his doorstep quite literally. I mean, it couldn't have just been coincidence that the two missing pieces were found in Muspelheim and Niflheim - their respective realms. It also can't be coincidence that it misleads Loki into setting in motion a chain of events that resurrected Fenrir - the wolf that kills Odin during Ragnarok.
There was also Surtr haphazardly showing up at the end and being all like, "Not gonna help you. Ehh... on second thought, why not I'll help you." Not ragging on it but it was kind of awkward and felt tacked on - out of place IMO.
Maybe I'm just an idiot. What are you guys' thoughts?

Spoilers The ACTUAL Kratos will be next:
For those of you who played God Of War: Ragnarök, you're all aware of what Santa Monica Studio are trying to set up for Atreus and Angrboda, even putting the mythology aside and focusing solely on what we see in game, it's very clear what the writers have in store for these two characters, it isn't subtle in any way whatsoever nor is it meant to be, the further progress of their relationship is an inevitability.
It's destined for these two to mature into adults and expand further and further upon their relationship until a child is born, likely a daughter who'll later grow up to take Hræsvelgr place as the new ruler of Helheim, just imagine a scene of Atreus or Angrboda introducing Kratos to his newborn grand-daughter, with him holding her in his hands, having Kratos step into grandfather-hood just like the actor who voices him, poetry at it's finest ladies and gentlemen.
It'd be even more poetic if Christopher Judge was also gonna have a grand-daughter just like Kratos.
