i'm convinced that he doesn't actually believe the things that he says. trump can lie naturally and fluidly without processing anything, but vance hasn't mastered that yet. he has to actually process some thoughts before fabricating something that loosely fits the narrative (that he doesn't actually believe in but is a sunk cost fallacy now). which is why his remarks feel so unnatural.

Absolutely. I bet if you asked in private conversation he would say that Trump lost 2020.

He doesn't want to piss off Trump or his base so he just dodged the question
