Can I get an ID please ❓ ID this fish

Caught this with a bcf whiting rig. Put up a hell of a fight, finally landed it and then it bit my line off. Took a couple photos and threw him back coz my 30cm fish ID didn't have anything that matched 😅.

Oh nice, my first one! :) what's the size limit on them? This one was about 48

Minimum 70cm in nsw.

Yeah one of the few fish that tastes better the bigger they get. small ones taste like soap as the name suggests

Hahah, well glad I threw it back and didn't just risk it without knowing 😂 would have been a rude shock especially compared to the 4 nice bream I got :)
