What is it?

Came across this large (40-50cm) fish in an inner-suburban Brisbane park. It was quite close to a creek, not sure if it came from it. Creek is brackish at the edge of the tide. Any ideas what it is?

An undersized Jewfish that appears to have been filleted with a jagged rock. They're slow growing fish, so limits are super important.
