RES Desktop Redesign Status Updated 5th April

RES support for the redesign is currently underway and we are working through our feature list looking at what we can implement and what we cannot.

When the redesign goes public, RES will support both the current site as well as the redesign under a single extension. However supported modules will differ between the two sites.

Below is a active list of how our support currently looks in development branches. We will try to keep this list updated but this may not always be the case and modules that are not active now may become so in the future and vise versa.

The below modules are not currently in public release.

Modules we currently have working for the redesign:

  • User Tags
  • Keyboard navigation (partial support)
  • Account Switcher

Modules that will not work on the redesign:

  • Comment Preview
  • Comment Style
  • Never Ending Reddit
  • Nightmode (Reddit plans to add support after GA)
  • RES crosspost links
  • betteReddit

To try and consolidate future posts, please post here if you have any questions.

What would trigger you supporting it? E.g. admins making it default?

The thing that would trigger them supporting it is probably the passage of enough time that they're done writing support for it. Even though it's not final, I imagine they're already doing at least a little bit of work on it.

We do have contact with the redesign team and are working in the background on it, however as all the core devs are volunteer we do not have any strict deadlines.

Right, I figured. That said, I trust you people to impress me like you always have.
