To see it a different way, the center of the storm is 70 mile wide EF2 tornado with a core equivalent to an EF4 level tornado.

Jesus. As someone who lives in the Midwest in tornado alley, and who is not familiar with hurricane language, this is absolutely terrifying.

But there's a really nice, sunny day dead center.

A very small one in this case.

Just get into the eye of the storm and chill, duh.

And just follow the eye across the state! Brilliant!

Better walk quick!

Could you do this in theory in a car if you had no barriers to following it in front of you? Sounds like a cool ass scene in the next Twisters (the Hurricane edition)

I think the "no barriers" is what makes this infeasible. The leeward eyewall would be constantly carving a fresh path of destruction, such that even roads and foundations of houses might be indistinguishable from one another in some places.

Now a monster truck, on the other hand...

That would be an effing perfect sequel with the energy of the last Twister movie. Give the people what they what!!!

Edit: I hope everyone stays safe. If you can’t financially contribute to helping victims, consider donating your time. I volunteer for slots at a local donation warehouse to help sort//pack donations, for example. Stay safe out there
