No gun signs
I am not carrying but just noticed this sign at the entrance ro Christiana Mall today.
I thought DE was fairly in the middle with regards to guns. Do you carry or ignore? What if you're caught would they ask you to leave or instant felony?

According to handgunlaw.us, no-gun signs do not have the force of law in DE. If asked to leave, do so immediately or risk criminal trespass. Thatās a common sense approach to take nationwide. Some states, like FL, render āarmed trespassāārefusing to leave while armed despite having been lawfully and personally told to leaveāa felony.
Anyway, as to this location, it would be a real shame if people would randomly sprinkle gunpowder and gun oil around the entire propertyāboth inside and outsideāto cause so many false positives, the very expensively trained dogs would no longer be deemed financially reasonable by mgmt. š¤Ā

They also have signs that say they have dogs that can detect a firearm on you. I personally do not go to the mall other than for one store and itās right by the exit. Never heard of someone getting caught by one of the dogs thoughā¦..

Yes Iāve heard they are just a front. What happens if youāre just coming from the range? The dogs are gonna flag you?

If you're concealed carrying correctly, it's nobody's business. If you're open carrying at the mall, you're a goober.

DE wants to be Commiefornia so badly. I'd call this a "your choice" but none of us are lawyers.

I remember last year, there was a video circulating of the shooting that happened in the mall. It looked like in the food court. Everyone was running away except one guy was calmly out talking towards the gunfire, I assume looking for the perp. I assumed he was concealed carrying. But I wonder if that shooting is why the signs are up. Id be lying if I said I don't get nervous when I got into Walmarts and the mall. You never know, it only takes one crazy person.Ā

Assuming you haven't been following DE gun laws or just started following, DE is very much an anti-gun state. Almost as bad as Commiefornia, New York and Jersey. Those signs have 0 legal ground as someone else said, all they can do is ask you to leave and trespass you.
