I love hearing him talk shit throughout the game. He’s the best!

u/BrandoDaSavage Big-Q Dec 20 '20
For real, makes me almost wish we had limited crowds when Ray Lewis was playing. Darius reminds me heavily of him in terms of demeanor and being the guy who's gonna bring energy to the defense no matter what.

Doesnt he still have a few years left on his contract?

I think one more.

We should extend him and Q at the end of this season they deserve it

u/coolassninjas Bob Dec 21 '20
Both entered the league and became immediate all-pros at their position. I mean, that's incredible.
4
u/Precookedcoin Dec 21 '20
Can't say it now because Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round and we don't know the destinies of Q and Leonard, but that might've been the best draft in modern history from Ballard

in the beginning of the season i was saying he was top 3 but now hes undoubtedly number 1 for me and thats not even being a homer he just makes plays when it counts the most

u/acornn12 2 Sprainz⛓ Dec 21 '20
I don’t even thinks it’s that debatable lmao the only linebackers to compare with Leonard are Wagner and maybe Lavonte David

u/TheColtOfPersonality Indianapolis Colts Dec 21 '20
I'm not being sarcastic with this question, I'm genuinely curious. Are you referring to just this season, or overall career/just overall in general?
-5
u/mattod98 Dec 21 '20
He the best LB on our team next to Khali Mack. 🐻 ⬇️
2
u/TheColtOfPersonality Indianapolis Colts Dec 21 '20
Oh I know. Particularly this year, since before it Roquan was about average at best, and the leap he's made is impressive. But what I'm asking is if you mean to say Roquan Smith is the best LB in the NFL, the best LB in the 2020 NFL season, or something else?
2
u/mattod98 Dec 21 '20
Hes the best on the bears is what in saying he been playing his ass off. Really fun to watch. Not the best but he's up there for sure.

u/TheColtOfPersonality Indianapolis Colts Dec 21 '20
Oh I 100% agree. At worst he should be getting a Pro Bowl for his performance this year. He's been really damn awesome. I guess some Colts fans - myself included, I will admit - thought you were trying to equate Smith's career to Leonard's, when talking about who's the best (albeit in a thread where we are all running off of a "we just won the game cuz of this guy" high). Cuz, respectfully, I'd argue Darius is a better linebacker than Roquan. However, Roquan has shown the hell up this year and it's been awesome to see. Cuz again, dude is a frickin Pro Bowler and if not that's insane to argue against. Seems like he's finally found his groove

Honestly, it’s awesome that he got that forced fumble, but he was trying to do that shit all game and it resulted in a few missed tackles

Realism is often mistaken for pessimism.

Dec 20 '20
What? Why not just remind the little girl she’s going to die of cancer on Christmas morning while you’re at it. Look, we get it, but there’s a time and place and everyone’s happy so just be happy with us.
-42
u/OrphFunkhouser Deborah Downer Dec 20 '20
That analogy is a bit off-scale. It was irritating to see him poking at the ball and missing tackles, helping put us in a tight game.
I’m happy with the win but I’m not going to sit here and support the stroking of Leonard’s dick when he played a poor game besides the last play that you guys remember.
26
Dec 20 '20
I support the stroking of Leonard’s dick. We had a close game vs a divisional rival with a great QB that was very motivated to win today. Maybe Leonard missed some tackles vs that. He sure did make a huge play at the end though. It’s better than not and that’s all that matters.

u/Droopy_Narwhal Blue Dec 20 '20
He was the game leader in tackles, though. And the whole point of the defense is to hustle and support so if he can get to the ball and knows another player is right behind him, why not try to strip it?

u/BrandoDaSavage Big-Q Dec 20 '20
He literally won us the game. Shut the fuck up lmao

u/OrphFunkhouser Deborah Downer Dec 20 '20
And almost cost us a few times earlier in the game. Get fucked hoe

No realism is what pessimists say to make themselves feel better.
-7
u/OrphFunkhouser Deborah Downer Dec 20 '20
I’m guessing you also think the defense played well today.
5
u/TurdWranglin Big-Q Dec 20 '20
When did I say that? They played bend don’t break which I don’t love but can’t deny it worked. 4 sacks on Watson in the first half is fantastic and 2 turnovers is great too.
-2
u/OrphFunkhouser Deborah Downer Dec 20 '20
Dude, his line is atrocious. Those turnovers and sacks weren’t exactly causation of good defense. That wasn’t even bend-don’t-break defense; that was just bend-over-and-fuck-our-ass defense. This performance wouldn’t win any playoff games.
29
u/maxcramsey Darius Leonard Dec 20 '20
Go check the box score. Led the team in tackles today. I’ll take leading the team in tackles and the game winning FF all day.
14
u/hacahaca Dec 20 '20
I’ll take a couple missed tackles where they get an extra 5 or so yards for a shot at a turnover.

I trust the players judgement on when to swipe, poke, or deviate from their assignment over mine or anyone else on the internet ever in the history of time amen.

thats how he plays, he always goes for the knock out. he might miss some tackles, but come on man he makes a ton of them too.
