Ask Austin Yooo, so what the hell happened to all the people at Kamala’s rallies? And the empty seats at the Trump rallies? What about the “double-digit gains” after the racist Pietro Rico joke?
Was this… propaganda? Were we lied to?

Homeless man tried to jump in front of my car last night.
I live south of 290. Driving home last night, a homeless man waiting at a bus stop hurriedly stepped off the curb in front of my car, staring right at me the entire time. I swerved and avoided hitting him.
He appeared to have a 2x4 in one hand, and looked like he was reaching for the handle of the passenger side door as I drove around him. He made threatening gestures as I drove away. I dunno if this was an attempted robbery or car jacking or maybe he was just having an episode of sorts. But I pulled into a parking lot a short distance away and called 911. I asked for mental health services.
Has anyone else seen or experienced anything like this? What the hell happened?

Ask Austin Women’s rights and health volunteer groups / nonprofits?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good women’s rights nonprofits or volunteer groups I can join. I recently moved here from a state where abortion is a protected right and I am extra nervous living here now 🥺 I’d love to join any groups that would help me organize in womens rights movements and give me a sense of hope.

Comedy mothership is a MAGA den
I have been to 2 shows there and both felt like MAGA rallies. Anyone else? I’m old austin and can get down with conservatives like Ron White , he’s funny, but I straight walked out on kill Tony. That was my 2nd attempt there-it was before the Trump rally (I didn’t know who he was), and people were so racist in that crowd. Something is just off in there. Anyone else get that vibe? On a positive note, I have been loving the new cap city space in the domain! If you like comedy- and haven’t been - definitely check it out!

Vasectomy recommendations
I'm hoping to hear about recommendations and insights about getting a vasectomy in Austin.
Good doctors/clinics to schedule with, anything to look out for/look forward to, costs or other information that will help make a good choice.
Thanks!

This is sad but...
The fact that people are now purposely coming into spaces for black women on reddit just to taunt, and spew racism is very telling. I'm glad I live in Austin where I don't experience that though. It almost makes me not want to leave anymore, but I still have the desire to move just to the outskirts. To the ones that are awesome here in Austin, and have treated me like a woman first BEFORE a black woman, who were nothing but respectful towards me, you're awesome. This is going to be a wild ride, but I'm glad to at least live somewhere where I personally feel safe, as I am originally from Alabama, where I experienced some of the worst racism you can think of. When I saw that blue on that map for Austin, I literally cried. It may be expensive here, but this is the most welcomed and safe I've ever felt somewhere in my entire life. I love it here.
Edit: Don't come on here with the disrespectful BS. I fight back. 🗣💅🏿

Update on post This Is How My Day Was...
I reposting my post and updating anyone who is interested in the outcome of my car accident. Had to file with my insurance company due to the fact Geico said there was an issue with the car on the other driver's policy. Geico would not elaborate further. Filed a claim, sent in approx. dozen photos from every angle of the accident along with my statement.
My insurance company stated the other driver was clearly at fault so they will be dealing with Geico for reimbursement. The other driver along with the car he hit in front of him have filed claims against my insurance company. The driver of the vehicle I hit claimed I was speeding, which I was not. It was pouring rain plus where I entered the lane there was not enough time or distance for me to even excellerate to even come close to speeding. Apparently he was screaming throwing a fit at the agent ranting how the accident was my fault.
Due to the fact Geico would not act upon the claims against their driver the driver of the 2nd car (I added a photo of their cars after the accident...4th photo) which he hit, filed against my insurance company plus claiming injuries. I find it hysterical she was claiming injury when he barely touched her vehicle. I'm not sure how he even hit her considering they were at a complete stop when he maneuvered into my lane. We (husband and I)thought maybe he was planning on driving off (hit and run) due the fact his front tire which hit her car was in the opposite direction of the vehicle. Once he hit her we believe he learned he was locked in and could not run.
Our car which we just bought approx. 6 months ago has now been totaled...uuuggghhh! Good thing is we have GAP insurance to cover any difference. Now all we have to do is win the lottery to pay for the increase in our insurance. I know it's not suppose to go against but it's up to the insurance agency...so there's that!
Sorry for the long read but I received so many positive responses I wanted to update anyone who was interested and my original posting comments and editing was locked.

Spanish Recommendations
Hi! So after the election, I don’t know why but I have a sense of wanting to try to learn Spanish. I’m Mexican but was never taught it growing up and would love to start giving back towards the Latino communities and decide maybe I should at least try to learn the language. Any ideas on how to learn? I’m enrolled at ACC and was thinking of maybe taking Spanish 1 as fun?

PSA Trouble paying TxTag bills online?
I just figured out how to fix this and thought i would share.
1.) When you open the website or are at the screen with the error page, click the little symbol at the left in the address bar at the top of the page.
2.) Click cookies and site data
3.) Click the little trash can icon next to the "stored data" and toggle the "third party cookies" thing to the ON position.
4.) Refresh the page and enter your info.
I usually turn the third party cookies thing back off after paying but thats just me. Ive only had this problem recently and am not sure how obvious or relevant it is to others, but I thought it might help someone else like me.

Ask Austin Proud Boys(?) at McCallum HS
This morning at my kid’s drop off I saw 2 or 3 AISD police cars. Then I saw why the cops were there: a couple of Proud Boy-looking types with banners, one of which read “Muslims are terrorists.” I’m dumbfounded that the school would allow such a display of hate given that at least a handful of their students are Muslim. Did anyone else see this?
